We're Miles away....
First off, just like to say hello to everyone. Those boards over on ESPN are starting to tick me off.
I thought i'd drop by these boards to see how everyone is.
But my main concern right now is Darius Miles... Now that we have this offer to Hassel, what does this do for us in respects to resigning Miles?
I don't know about all of you, but Miles is one of my favorite players on this team, and I believe it would be a great mistake to let him slip through our fingers...
Thoughts?

The Miles Situation presents a whole smorgasboard of potential options. He signs a long term deal. He signs a one year deal. He signs with another team due to POR not making a counter-offer. Sign and trade. Anything. Personally, I'd like to see him signed to a one year deal, and then, if he performs to his ability, signed to a multi-year after that.

I think until Miles pulls his head out of his rear and realizes he will not get 9 mil a season to start, then I do hope portland re-signs him but if he doesnt I say let him walk.

Let him prove he can score off midrange jumoers and play consistently good defense for a year, then reevaluate. Right now, he's pretty replaceable. If he's going to be lockerroom trouble or pout because he's feeling underpaid, then let him prove it or just go.

If we do not do a S&T, or
if he signs the qualifier for a one year deal... and he does not prove to warrant a longer term deal.. he becomes yet another expiring contract for 2005

I really think he'll take the one year tender and go unrestricted next year.
