the damon trade...
so if we get kidd then where do we ship damon later this summer or later in december when kidd is back healthy...what teams need or will need a veteran pg and an extra bonus in that damon is an expiring contract
ideas??
preferably the deal would yield a SG that can actually shoot and would also rid us of either anderson or patterson
and side note, marcus fizer would be a huge steal for us if we get him to backup zach with the loss of SAR for kidd

I think you include Damon in the NJ trade, bringing back Aaron Williams and Zo.
First off, I think you do it because the Nets force you too -- Kidd for SAR straight up just seems too good to be true, even factoring in contract and injuries.
But I actually like this part of the trade. It solves all the Blazers' roster imbalance. Aaron Williams would be a nice backup role player -- the kind this team has been lacking for too long -- at the 4/5. Zo probably never plays again, in which case he gets erased from the salary cap. But if he does come back, he's...
a) potentially a very good backup center to Theo
b) one of the best people, from a character/leadership perspective, in the league
c) one hell of a human interest story, which may or may not help to sell seats in the Rose Garden, but will probably people like John Canzano happy for a little bit. That, sadly, might help the team's standing in this town.
So that's my solution. No new Damon trade, just
SAR/Damon
for
Kidd/Mourning/Williams

I would throw Damon into the nearest volcano (St Helens?) and praise all the pagan gods imaginable for finally ridding us of his presence.
seriously, if you won a million bucks tomorrow would you worry about where to park your Yugo?

damon...mercer...RJ...SAR...collins
or
damon...RJ...Eric Williams...SAR...collins

I don't know how the Gods would react about Damons past. He's anything but virginal.

The blazers roster will not allow them to take back more bodies than they send out, correct?

The Gods would get really high off Damon Stoudamire.

In further news:
The volcano Gods have vehemently rejected the Wanker proposed deal including Damon Stoudamire, stating that they have enough stupid ash as it is.
