Khryapa to play?
Was it reported on Courtside or on KXL that Khryapa will play this year, and sparingly in training camp? I thought he was out for the year? Someone stated his cast was off at media day and that he would play, albeit be brought back slowly? Is this true? Did anyone else hear this?

I think maybe I read this on the Blazer Blog on NBA.com...
but if I recall correctly... Nash reiterated just a week or two ago, that Khryapa messed up his foot pretty badly this summer, and still would be out for the rest of the year.

What would Nash's motivation be for saying he is out all year? It seems to me like GM's list the earliest players may be back in hopes that fans get excited.

He didn't say all SEASON, he said all year.
So you are quibbling over a six day difference.

I think it would be great to get him back by December, I've really been wanting to see this guy play especially with the comparisons to Kerilenko. He seems like a scrappy player who works hard on both sides of the floor.

And then there's theoretically Woods, too. That said, let's say that DA and Patterson for Jones deal goes through. Then we're down to Miles and SAR for most of those SF minutes. Then let's say that, as some have said, Cheeks and the gang discover that SAR really can't hang with the other SFs out here. But hey, the team's still likely fine with Miles playing 35 to 40 minutes a game and SAR doing his best with the remaining minutes. But then let's say Miles or SAR get hurt -- seems likely enough for SAR as he'd basically be playing out of position. Suddenly guys like Outlaw and Woods are actually needed <shudder> unless....Khryapa (or however he spells it) is ready. Not having seen him play, he already seems a safer bet than at least Woods.

John Nash: Yes, Victor sustained an injury in summer league which will take a full year to recover from. He's making progress, but in a walking cast as we speak, and it's not likely he'll be fully recovered until next July.

I believe him.

See above.... we are talking next summer, not year end!
I hope he comes back as well, but it does not sound good at all.
