It is near Ashland. It is such a small, peaceful place I can't imagine to local cops even having that kind of hardware.

Whoever the cops were, sounds like they badly over-reacted!

How odd. In most countries, you can push the police around all you want and they won't do anything.

I guess these officers just misunderstood the intentions of all those peace-loving non-violent demonstrators.

Jacksonville is a peaceful small town.

Unfortunately there are people that will go out of their way for attention. Their message lacks substance so they have to make themselves an oddity to get the cameras to turn their way. Pathetic is what it is.

Jacksonville is a nice little town which hosts the Britt Music Festival and many other concerts each summer. It was once the most redneck town in Oregon but now, due to it's close proximity to Ashland, is rapidly swinging in the other direction.

Chosen by Bush due to it's nearness to Medford, the belief was Bush would have basically 100% support from the crowd as the Repubs have enjoyed in past visits to Medford. Another error of judgement by the Bush/Cheney Machine.

I don't buy that.

If you know anything about Jacksonville you will know that the fine people from Jacksonville would not gather in the streets and push cops. They are reasonable people.
