Por/Tor idea (long shot)
Portland trades:
PF Shareef Abdur-Rahim (16.3 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 2.0 apg in 31.6 minutes)
PG Damon Stoudamire (13.4 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 6.1 apg in 38.0 minutes)
SG Ruben Patterson (7.0 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 1.9 apg in 22.6 minutes)
Portland receives:
SG Jalen Rose (15.5 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 5.0 apg in 37.9 minutes)
SF Vince Carter (22.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 4.8 apg in 38.1 minutes)
SF Lamond Murray (6.0 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 0.9 apg in 15.7 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +7.3 ppg, -3.5 rpg, and +0.7 apg.
Toronto trades:
SG Jalen Rose (15.5 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 5.0 apg in 37.9 minutes)
SF Vince Carter (22.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 4.8 apg in 38.1 minutes)
SF Lamond Murray (6.0 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 0.9 apg in 15.7 minutes)
Toronto receives:
PF Shareef Abdur-Rahim (16.3 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 2.0 apg in 85 games)
PG Damon Stoudamire (13.4 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 6.1 apg in 82 games)
SG Ruben Patterson (7.0 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 1.9 apg in 73 games)
Change in team outlook: -7.3 ppg, +3.5 rpg, and -0.7 apg.
TRADE ACCEPTED
Due to Portland and Toronto being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Portland and Toronto had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Vince/POR deals seem to have endless permutations. I'm not sure the Blazers would do this. Not because of Carter, but like Cimalee said, Jalen's contract.

No worries, because there's no way in hell Toronto does this deal...what would Toronto do with SAR and Bosh, both PF, and now no all-star swingman...why would they do this??????????
I know you guys are biased, but that would be like us asking you guys if you wanted to trade...Donyell Marshall, Jalen Rose and Jerome Moiso for...Zach Randolf and Damon
BTW if we're talking overpaid players, I would take Rose over Damon anyday

And you want to trade Vince and Bosh for Randolph, Ratliff, and Van Exel? I think you are also biased towards the Blazers!
Toronto wants what every team wants when they trade a star--youth, size and capspace. A combination of picks, young talent, and/or expiring contracts in exhange for onerous ones (Alvin Williams, Lamond Murray, and Jalen Rose) is what it takes to get Carter out of Toronto. I can't see too many teams biting on that, though.

I'm sure you're not aware that Damon's deal runs out after this season while Jalens salary cap killer goes for another 3. While I prefer Jalen as a player, his ridiculous contract makes him the worse overall guy to have on a roster... Damon's deal actually has a lot of potencial value as a massive expiring deal that will come off some team's cap.

I can't believe you think Portland wouldn't do it ... but mention nothing of Toronto.
Toronto would never do this deal.
