Gee I wonder what the topic will be for tonight's show.
I guess they might talk about the Randolph extension or the Rahim for a player to be named later, but I would like to hear some kind words about those Pittsburgh Steelers who ended the NFL record win streak. Now that would be a trifecta if you ask me, how about you Trader Bob?
Season is just two days away!

Hey guys (mike)
There once was a commish named Stern,
the answer to one question I must learn
Blazer fans are the best
The best in the west!
Hosting an All Star game, when's our turn?
I hope that he answers with care,
and tells us the truth on a dare.
it's starting to be
annoying to me
Will the star of that game be Telfair?

As a true and blue Steeler "Hater", you know your team must be good if I'm dishing out compliments. First or all, B-Roth is the best young QB I've seen in years. He's ALREADY a Pro Bowler. It's unbelievable to watch him--he's not supposed to be this good in his 1st year!! The only vulnerable spot on this team (I have to slip in a negative thought) is the secondary. Chad Scott's dinged up and he's the best the Steelers have. Pittsburg can be thrown on. However, the Zone Blitz's are getting enough pressure that nobody's has any time to pick it appart. Plus, nobody runs the ball well against the Steelers. Even in down years, they are tough to run on. This may be the best team in football, and it pains me greatly to say that!!

Hey Courtside,
Looking forward to the up coming season as I am sure most NBA Fans are, but the extension signing of Zach Randolph got me thinking that a trade must be on the horizon. Portland has used up a lot of next summer’s money, signing the extensions of Miles, Ratliff, and now Randolph, there isn’t going to be much money if any left to attract any free agents next summer. So a sign and trade deal would have to be what John Nash is thinking, right?
I have listed some players that would work as a one for one deal and would like to get your input on them. Portland has two expiring contracts left in Stoudamire, Abdur-Rahim and a team option with Van Exel. I really think that this makes Rahim odd man out.
Players for Abdur-Rahim
1. Jason Kidd (contract four years left)
2. Penny Hardaway, (contract one year left)
3. Latrell Sprewell (expiring contract)
4. Ray Allen (expiring contract)
5. Jalen Rose (contract two years left)
6. Michael Finley (contract three years left)
Which of these players would fit into what Portland is trying to do? Which player would make Portland more attractive to Free Agents in the off season and would there be anyone willing to play with this team for the exception next season if we added one of these players?
Thanks as always,
HOWIE

Yes, Howie I am with ya....but shhhhhhhhhhh do not let anyone know we are good this year. At least for now. I am enjoying it.
I did not get to listen tonight, but sent in a question about their thoughts of trading Rahim for Eddie Jones straight across. My opinion on it is well documented around here.
So I do not know if it was answered or not?
Does anyone have a recap?

I thought I'd jump on the limrick bandwagon. We should have a thread dedicated for these all year.
There once was a coach named Cheeks
Who's offense was extremely week
The players ran down
and then just stood around
Oh my lord does this season look bleak

They did read your email on the air, but Steve Jones shot it down saying that he didn't like the trade for Eddie Jones.

I thought I'd fill people in on what went on last night on courtside.
The Comish was on he talked about the league and how the International players have caught up to us. Rice jabbed him with a question about the all-star game. Stern said "show me the Hotel space" Rice said he would get on it.
Tom Bosma was on blabbering about something. I believe this is when these two women walkjed in the bar and time appeared to stop.....sorry.
Zach was on next. The young man has obviously been paying attention in his media classes. He is much more well spoken than in years past. He talked about being human, and the mistakes he's made. Excited about the money, and ready for the season.
Howie's email was read and Snapper shot down every name on it ecept for Kidd and Allen. He called the others no better than what we have....that was classic.
Predictions took up the rest of the show basicaly.
Snapper was the only one not to pick Portland to make the playoffs.............HIS CREDIBILTY JUST WENT UP 10 FOLD.
Rice, Wheels, and MB all picked Portland to make the playoffs. They left teams out like dallas, Sacramento, Utah and Phoenix to put Portland in.
All of them picked Detroit and San Antonio in the finals, and I think MB was the only one who picked SA to win it all.
That was it in a nutshell.
Although they all seemed to think that a SAR trade was inevitable, saying things like "it's more a matter of time than if it will happen"

Thanks Mediocre. Even though there wasn't much said, it is still nice to hear about it.
