OT : V. Lenard tears achilles tendon
Early in the game, V. Lenard tore his achilles tendon. This will hurt Denver imo, he was their best shooter, and starting SG.
..Hmm, I wonder what they would give up for Derek Anderson ?
Maybe the could swing a Nene for Joe Johnson deal? They should use Nene as bait to land them a quality starting SG imo. Phx would have a very nice frontcourt Duo down the road with Nene and Amare.

As much as I would love to get rid of DA, I don't think we'd trade with a division rival...

I would now like to retract an earlier post I made about Denver finishing in the top 4 of the Western Conference!

Bummer. I can't imagine how bad it must feel to spend all summer and early fall looking forward to a great season, only to have it evaporate in the snap of a tendon.
Now... who was that Nuggets fan who was saying that the Nuggets were going to be better than the Blazers?

I think it hurts their chances a whole lot as they don't have a decent backup 2. Tough break for them.

I disagree Nate, if POR can rid itself of DA's 3 year approx $28mil deal, they should do it, division rival or not.
POR can make do w\o DA, and in all likelyhood they will have to anyway, as the guy seemingly never can stay healthy.

Denver should still be better than Portland. I know it's easy to react to one game and a serious injury, but getting a 2 guard to play decent defense and stand around and shoot 3's should be easier than, say, finding a quality center or PG.
Still, sucks for the Nuggets.

Get well soon Voshon... that is too bad
I still would love to get Nene', he seems like he will be a good player down the road.
Yes, might be nice to trade them DA, if Rahim can get us another SG

Denver is screwed right now. Who's going to be their starting 2 now? Maybe Rodney White, but he shot it everytime he touched the ball last night. They also don't have a backup 2 guard.
With the loss of Jon Barry, Lenard was their other outside threat. Andre Miller has no 3pt shot, Martin and Nene aren't exactly good mid-range shooters. Melo is alright from outside, but he didn't light it up in the Olympics.
On top of that, if Camby goes down to injury, who's going to back him up? They lost Doleac, Ryan Bowen, and Chris Anderson in the offseason.
I think they were over-rated in the offseason, and this injury doesn't help. I see them fighting with us for one of the last playoff spots in the West.

I loved what Denver did this time a year ago, but felt this most recent off-season was a disastrous collection of moves. I expect the team to struggle significantly this year, as egos, injuries, and shaky team balance all take a toll.
Sound familiar?

If that's true then why can't the Blazers find a 2 guard that shoots (and makes) 3's?
