Trade Miles not Sars?
Maybe the answer to the blazers troubles is to trade miles. Sars is tearing it up and Miles is sucking it up. Im probably just mad because cheeks is a idiot and plays miles at the wrong time when he is cold from sitting

No, it isn't that Miles is cold it is that Miles isn't a very good "basketball" player. He's an excellent athletic monster, but he isn't a terribly good basketball talent.
He's an open floor whiz and a runner, but that's where it ends. When it comes to organized basketball - Miles doesn't really have it. He's a rec ball player.
So, when he comes in the game - he isn't getting the burn that he needs to get in the open floor.
There is nothing wrong with Darius Miles being what he is though. Heck, some great players in the league are nothing more than open court, athletic kids that can dunk. Darius is in that category.
Play.

Also, it is a bit harder to trade a player that may be "sucking it up" than a player who is playing well.
I like D-Miles. Right now he is potential. I hope something great comes from it.

It is also hard to trade a player who has been a career bench player with a very well documented pathetic work habit.
It's hard to trade wasted potential for anything in this league.
Darius Miles was signed for far too much and I don't think anyone would willingly take him on their roster.
Play.

That is a bunch of Garbage Play....
Miles is a good player, when given time. He actually handles coming off the bench better than SAR did last year. Yes, he is athletic, Freaky athletic even by NBA standards IMO, but to say he is a rec ball player is pure garbage IMO.
Miles is a good defender, a good passer, excellent running the floor on the fast break. He is effective posting up, when given the chance and can drive to the hoop at will and is difficult to block b\c of his long arms and reach when he does so. Yeah, his outside shooting is his weakness, and you HOPE if you are POR that he continues to improve in that area, and he most certainly does. But quite frankly, if he does develop a semi reliable outside shot, he will be a very difficult offensive player to stop.
Miles is much better than many people give him credit for. I think a lot of people like to bag on him b\c he was such a high lottery pick, but he was just a HS kid, he is only 23 years old. When he has gotten the minutes here he has played well. Also, with Miles I think there is a lot more to his game than just his stats, the team seems to push the ball, run a little more, they seem to be a little tougher defensively.
Furthermore, I like his hustle, I have seen two games now where Miles turned the ball over, but instead of quitting, arguing or sulking, busted his butt back on defense to make a great defensive play. I think he will continue to improve once this three headed monster in POR is finally resolved.

How good or not Miles may be (now and long term) is, on some level, not so very important here. SAR is the player another team is going to want, both for the potential salary relief and for how he's currently playing. So yes, perhaps Miles could be traded the Blazers don't care about what comes back. If they're still hoping to land someone like VC, Wally, or anyone near that level, SAR (or Randolph) will need to be involved.

I'd be okay with that plan. Without bothering to check RealGM or anything like that, I'm guessing that Z-bo is now in salary range of guys like VC. Damon is likely quite tradable with teams looking for salary relief. All in all, the guys I'd try to keep and build around if I were the GM would be: Rahim, Ratliff, Telfair and maaaybe Patterson. Everyone else would be fair game for the trade-o-rama wheel.

Miles would be very hard to trade with his new contract. He was definetly overpaid.
But Miles is more then just an athlete, he is a skilled basketball player. Sure he is not a great shooter but he excells in many other aspects of the game.
I don't think he'll ever be someone to carry a team offensively but he could end up being a very good starter on a championship level team.
In some ways he is similar to Jerome Kersey. I could see him filling a role like that on a very good team.
Remember that one game last year against I think Boston? Miles scored like 30 points and was dominating in the half court. He could develope into a solid half court player offensively, its just he'll never be a long range shooter.

Actually:
SAR = SHAREEF Abdur-Rahim
and his real nickname is Reef. I don't know why people around here call him SAR. It's almost the dumbest name in the known universe ...
behind only:
The Matrix (Marion)
Bassey (Telfair, I like Telflair)
Play.

SAR is used because you only have to type 3 letters. I have never heard anyone call him "SAR" at the Rose Garden...it is always "Reef" or "Shareef." SAR is just an internet nickname and is used because of the efficiency of typing.
I still think the Blazers should keep both Reef and Zach. It's obvious to me that they, along with Theo, are our best players. I believe in stockpiling quality big men.

People it isnt like this is a suprise that SAr is doing good. This is what Nash wanted. He wanted to showcase SAR and he is doing that. Nash ain't gonna trade Miles, and he's said so quite a few times.
