Flip Murray?
Here are his stats as a starter:
G MIN FGM-FGA FG% 3P% FT% STL BLK TO PF
18 35.6 7.3-16.5 .444 .342 .647 1.28 0.67 3.1 2.1
OFF DEF TOT AST PTS
1.0 3.2 4.2 4.5 19.2
He's got to be available. Seattle's doing well without him. On courtside last night, Mike Rice mentioned that John Nash may be interested.
What do you think?

Thinking about it now, I'm surprised this actually didn't get brought up earlier. Blazers need an upgrade at SG, Flip Murray is a SG on a team that can't give him the minutes (in my opinion) that he deserves. Who would Portland offer in exchange though?

I've always like Flip. Last year he avg'd over 20 ppg in a 17 game span. But, I would only consider him as our backup plan if we do not land Vince Carter.

I'm not sure who I'd give up. He and Richie Frahm have identical contracts. But I doubt Seattle does that. I would not give up Travis Outlaw for him though. I have no clue who Seattle would ask for.

Not sure I'd give more than a 2nd round pick for him.
Looking at his numbers he really hasn't been great other than he had a good run last season.
There must be some reson that since 2002/2003 he has played only 97 games...82 of which were last year.
BTW last year his basically only year, he shot 29% from 3 point land.

Yeah, but he was 34% as a starter. Some guys need to get big minutes to produce.
The caller who asked the question last night suggested Outlaw for Flip. Mike Rice shot that down, saying the Blazers wouldn't do it. He said some kind of multi player deal would have to be done. He said that Potapenko is another guy who may be available, since he's . Even with him thrown into the mix, I don't know who you could deal him for.
Flip makes about $700,000 per year. Would they want him back?

Would he help the team? Sure, I think so. He's not as good as DA, IMO, but he's a HECK of a lot cheaper and younger and he's better than Frahm.
Would Seattle move him for a 2nd rounder and cash? Or Frahm and a 2nd rounder?
I doubt it.

Well...If they're happy with their line-up as it is and concerned about dissention if Murray doesn't get his minutes...maybe they would give him up for lesser value. They're not likely to want to re-sign him after this season. Frahm + a 2nd rounder + 3 million bucks is a nice package for a guy they don't really want.
There has to be a deal that we could both agree to.

Seattle has a lot of youth..... but,
I wonder if we offered a 2006 lottery protected 1st rounder straight up for him if they would do it?
maybe some cash too... not $3 mil though
I doubt they are interested in Frahm
I would love to get Lewis from them though. I think he can work as a SG
