OK, this has NOTHING to do with Blazer basketball, but I found it to be interesting, nonetheless.....

Stores are becoming more and more disturbed about providing their own gift cards - especially around Chistmastime. You know why?

Because, when the cards are actually used "after" Christmas, much of the merchandise has been marked down and they lose a SIGNIFICANT amout of revenue. Dollars that would have otherwise been spent on higher-priced merchandise "before" Christmas.

Anywho, please don't bash me for posting this. It's Christmas Day!!

Go Blazers!!!
That's not true. Stores love selling gift cards, because they make money off of selling value. They'll never be spent to 100% of their value in all cases, so it's one of the easiest ways to make a significant profit.

Problem is if, say, you were to buy a sweater for $50 before Christmas, but opted for a $50 gift card. Then, the person you gave the gift card came into the store after Christmas and picked up that same sweater for $30 and got some $20 pants to go along with it, then.............

Anywho, that's what I heard on a news report.
