3 Team deal to get Pierce...
Ok I was thinking of what Boston would want, and IMO a good PG would be very important for them, so how about....
Portland trades:
SG Sergei Monia (No games yet played in 2004/05)
SF Ruben Patterson (8.8 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.6 apg in 23.6 minutes)
PF Shareef Abdur-Rahim (15.7 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 1.3 apg in 35.2 minutes)
Portland receives:
SG Paul Pierce (21.5 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 4.2 apg in 36.2 minutes)
SF Jamal Mashburn (No games yet played in 2004/05)
Change in team outlook: -3.0 ppg, -4.9 rpg, and +1.3 apg.
Boston trades:
SF Paul Pierce (21.5 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 4.2 apg in 36.2 minutes)
Boston receives:
PG Baron Davis (19.7 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 7.3 apg in 33.8 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -1.8 ppg, -2.7 rpg, and +3.1 apg.
New Orleans trades:
PG Baron Davis (19.7 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 7.3 apg in 33.8 minutes)
SF Jamal Mashburn (No games yet played in 2004/05)
New Orleans receives:
SG Sergei Monia (No games yet played in 2004/05)
SF Ruben Patterson (8.8 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.6 apg in 23.6 minutes)
PF Shareef Abdur-Rahim (15.7 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 1.3 apg in 35.2 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +4.8 ppg, +7.6 rpg, and -4.4 apg.
TRADE ACCEPTED
Maybe a pick or 2 would need to be thrown in there somewhere, but IMO it makes a certain amount of sense for all 3 teams.
New Orleans gets a guy in Patterson who brings a lot of energy and bad teams need energy. Monia is a prospect to help rebuild the team, and is a SF, who can play along side J.R. Smith in the future. Shareef is a means for getting out from under Mashburns contract, and is a player they could look at re-signing and then be able to move either Brown or Magloire.
Boston gets a rock solid PG in Baron Davis, who would be able to step in now and Play with Payton in the back court with Ricky Davis at the 3 for this year. Davis then slides to the 2, and Welsch at the 3, next year.
Boston Lineup (Next Year)
PG B Davis
SG R Davis
SF Welsch
PF Jefferson
C Lafrenz
Portland of course gives up quite a bit, but clears out some roster space to help with log jams at the 3, and adds Pierce to theior starting lineup.
Lineup (Next Year)
PG Telfair
SG Pierce
SF Miles
PF Randolph
C Pryzbilla
With their First round pick this year Portland can pick up a PF as this draft looks to be fronline heavy.
Bench
Outlaw, Ratliff, DA, 1strnder, Kyhrapa, Ha

Tlong, why do you hate realgm? Is it because people just come up with crazy trades that really make no sense for either team? Or that people come up with trades that benefit one team faaaaaar more than the others, and use realgm as proof it is do-able??
because thats why I hate realgm

The only problem with that trade is B-diddy is too injury prone for the Celtics to trade Pierce for, I proposed a trade last week that I think would work for both teams which is:
Pierce
for
Ruben & SAR

I don't think that's enough for Baron Davis, Schilly. I think it makes sense for the other two teams, for sure (assuming Boston is willing to move Pierce, they're not going to do better than Baron Davis).

I could have done the math not using RealGm....Only reason you hate it is cause I didn't ship Telfair out.

That's why I left the aspect of Picks open. Portland could send a pick to New Orleans, for 2006. But I'm not truelly sure at this point who should give up a pick, in all honesty, maybe Boston should.

A couple of days ago I posted this idea for a 3 way trade.
It's a little better for NO, but perhaps still not enough to pry Davis away. Depends on how much they want to rid themselves of his long-term contract.
I agree with Schilly - involving NO in a trade with Boston might be the winning solution.
Of course, realize that I posted this BEFORE Davis got injured AGAIN.....

I think I would rahter keep Ruben.... but if it got us Pierce so be it...
I am just liking what Ruben is doing now...
Rahim + Ruben for Pierce seems a bit steep.
Mashburn never plays..... he is always hurt

You all must be on DRUGS if you think BOSTON is going to give up Peirce STRAIGHT up for the most injury prone player in the ENTIRE LEAGUE and then throw in a draft pick...yeah, think again! I REALLY HATE IT when fans of other teams make freaking trade ideas that RIP the other team and totally undervalue their guys. As much as I'm annoyed with Peirce, he's a FREAKING all-star and he's NEVER injured, we are REBUILDING if we trade Peirce we're taking your young studs or we are not dealing with you. We get Monia & Telfair in any deal involving Portland or it doesn't happen...and we don't want Baron and I sure as heck hope Danny Ainge doesn't either.

Ahahahaha....you aren't getting Telfair. You might as well wake up and smell the coffee with that one.
But you're right, Pierce for Baron is a bad trade.
and oh yah...our clam chowder is better too!
