well I think you start with Rahim for Pierce and then continue to enhance to please both sides. But as you said, perhaps Jeffersons play dictates Ainge is no longer interested in Rahim.
I think if Damon or NVE were included it would be to balance salaries out if we were requested to take on LeFrentz salary, for instance. I do not think BOTH Damon and NVE would be requested by Boston, it would be one or the other since they have similar salary and ending contracts.
Giving up ONE youngin is doable, but not three or four of them
adding in a draft pick is certianly doable as well, but not several of them
its a balancing act for the GMS....

Yes I agree 1 young guy and a draft pick is very much acceptable, not 3 or 4, I never thought that would be fair. I do know that Ainge loved Telfair and Monia though, that's why I brought them up. I think Jefferson's play definately dictated a possible change of heart on SAR...Jefferson could come close to All-Star in his 3rd year if he keeps it up, so we are set at PF.

Well, I am pretty convinced that POR won't deal Telfair, and it has nothing to do with his "value" pre se, in relation to Pierce, but moreso that he is a Nash FAVORTITE, and with both Damon and NVE likely gone next year, the only returning PG currently. There are a lot of other young players POR could deal instead.
As for Monia, As a POR fan, I think you have to look at it realistically. Yeah Monia COULD be a good player, but we just don't know, but losing Monia to gain Pierce? Uh...no brainer.
That being said I am not sure if I were BOS that I would request Monia. I think I would ask for Outlaw or Khryapa instead, b\c IF they are going young, one void that I saw would be at SF. Unless You play R.Davis there, and IMO he is more suited for SG. They have T.Allen (SG), D.West (PG) , M.Banks (PG), J.Welsch (SG), Al Jefferson (PF) & K.Perkins (C?). Adding an Outlaw or Khryapa would make sense to me (possibly Monia could play SF too though), and then of course the real question is WHOM does BOS target with thje $10mil or so in cap space?
Young Bigs like:
Tyson Chandler?
Eddy Curry?
Kwame Brown?
Samuel Dalembert?
Stromile Swift?
Or young wing players like:
Joe Johnson?
Michael Redd?
Larry Hughes?
and then there is the draft with there own and LAL pick this year, and their own and POR pick in 06' to fill in.
THAT is why, IMO at least, I think that a SAR, Damon, Monia\Outlaw\Khryapa (one of) and a future 1st for Pierce, Lafrentz and filler would be a good deal for BOS.
But it looks as if, at present, BOS is not that interested in dealing Pierce...however things could always change....

They may wait until Summer now, but I really do think he'll be traded. He's a very good player and he's still producing and he's in his prime but he needs a change of scenery and I just have a feeling the Celts are going to move in another direction now that is becoming so clear that at least 3 of our young guys Jefferson, Perkins and Allen are the real deal.

Vince Carter and Paul Pierce are very comparable players talent wise....Look at what New Jersey gave Toronto for Carter....We should give Boston something similar....
