KFXX -- Negative, Negative, Negative...
Listened a little bit to that piece-of-crap radio station over the weekend.
OK, so they're not necessarily a piece of crap, but why, oh why, would they (immediately following the Blazers victory over the Spurs, no less) trot out that garbage poll asking the listeners if they thought the team should trade Theo??
Wrong timing.....at best.
Anyway, there's NO way the team should even consider such a thing! For one, having two solid big men on the tea, is a luxury many teams don't enjoy. Plus, Theo is still very much a valuable defensive piece on this team. One bad month doesn't negate all he's contributed over the past, nor what I'm sure he'll bring in the future.
Now, saying all that, I "may" not be opposed to bringing Theo off the bench once Zach returns. Pryz has done a remarkable job and should continue to be rewarded for his efforts.

Those guys on KFXX are just trying to stir things up. I find their credibility to be lacking on most topics.

I don't know ABM. I don't think trading Theo is such a bad idea. assuming you can get an adequate center back, trading Theo lears up a lot of salary. It also might be a way that the team could rid itself of D.A.
John Nash made a horible desision to re-sign Theo for what he was re-signed for, and if he could use Theo....who by all reading has a ton of suitors....to get under the cap and get rid of DA I don't think it's that bad of an idea.

I don't think we should be looking to trade him, but if the right deal comes up I wouldn't be opposed to it.
Pryz has stepped up and proven he can be a good center, so if we can get a star SG out of it I'm all for it. However, I do like Theo so would much rather find an alternative.

ABM, after we talked about KFXX the other day, I actually took a pen & paper yesterday and made a mark for each time the Blazers (or a Blazer) was brought up and another mark for negative or positive remark. Of the first 16 "mentions", there were 16 negative remarks and 0 positive.
This is now the #1 problem the Blazers have going for them, PR-wise. KFXX is a crap station with sophmoric, moronic and falt out idiot clueless announcers. And that's the better part of them.

You're pretty much right on BP. I'd also add that not a lot of them are from Oregon. The station really ticks me off with their constant Seattle sports reporting. I don't think any of them understand the passion we have for OUR team. I'm sure it's something like the Packers situation. Portland is a blue collar city mostly. All we wis a bunch of guys that hustle and play hard every night, and to show us the same respect that we show them. I'll be honest. Past transgressions aside, I'd take a roster full of Ruben Patterson's any day.

I completely agree with BP, ABM, and tlong... and the sad thing is that I have friends that work for that pathetic station. Judging by their ratings, not many people are listening anyway, so its nothing to be too worried about.

one would almost think there's an untapped market for local guys to have their own show..who actually know stuff about the team and the area.
you know, like how KFXX used to be.

Amen to that. Thing is, we DO have a team that has a bunch of guys that hustle and play hard every night!
As for KXXL, they aren't one of my "memory" stations. They are exactly what BlazerProphet said they are and more.
As for Theo, I say bench him and start Pryz. Theo is worn down and less, more effective minutes are far better than more, less effective minutes. I think Theo will be more effective off the bench. He'll last longer.
Pryz is only going to get better and better. He's young and up to the task.

Maybe we could convince the program director to give us all a couple of hours per week. Take turns and go from there. It would be nice to hear someone with a Portland perspective again.
depending on the studio size I'd need to work with someone thin, and really smart to offset my stupidity and total lack of class.

if you consider yourself heavy, I hate to think of what i am..
anyways, we always joked around here (about 18 months ago) that we should have the "hap and shilly show" (altho I wanted it to be the "schilly and hap show")...

It's going to be a matter of time one of the lunkheads from KFXX come over here to try and salvage their reputation.
Bottom-feeders.

schilly one day ripped on them, and (iirc) implied that one of us (or a group of us) could do better..
and that day, I kid you not, they ranted and raved about us "idiot fans" who think they could just come in and "do a better job".
they basically said "bring it, don't sing it, jr!"
they totally got played by the board.
