Heat sign Qyntel Woods
MIAMI (Ticker) - The Miami Heat have given Qyntel Woods a second chance.
The troubled Woods, who has been twice suspended, arrested and waived since the start of the season, was signed by the Heat on Wednesday.
Terms were not disclosed. Woods was in the final year of a three-year, $1.1 million rookie contract he signed in 2002 with the Portland Trail Blazers, who released him from the suspended list five days ago.

I think he'll be a productive player for the Heat. Hopefully he's been working hard during his suspension, but I have my doubts.

Really? Why? He wasn't particularly productive for us.

Did he get a chance to be? NO.
I'm not saying he deserved a chance.

Hopefully he's been practicing his 3pt shot. He could fit in nicely as a role player if he can make open jump shots on the perimeter when Shaq passes out of the post. Q could be the next Devean George or Rick Fox!

Miami is a nice place for a young man with a drug addiction.

Dude had over 1000 career minutes and 8 career starts. That's 4x as many minutes as Telfair has had and 8 more starts...yet Telfair has already helped us win more games than Woods.
I'm not suggesting that you said he deserves a chance, but I think he HAS had a pretty good opportunity to make an impact in the league. He didn't seize the opportunity.
I think, honestly, he's just too stupid to be a good player.

I can see Qyntel getting into X if he isn't careful about that Miami life.

Yeah, that's a pretty good comparison.
Million dollar body and a ten cent head.

The positive for Qyntel in this is that he gets to play with Shaq. I don't think Shaq will put up with him coming to practice baked.

If he managed to get himself into trouble here in Portland I can only imagine what awaits him in South Beach.

yep, just like:
Lamar Odom
Anthony Mason
etc.
etc.
etc.
Riley straightens people out. Everyone said the same thing when these guys came, and when they left, no one questioned their character anymore.

Didn't Anthony Mason start a riot in the French Quarter WHILE HE PLAYED FOR MIAMI?

I'm surprised a team with a worse record than the Heat, who would of had first priority, didnt try to sign him.
