That Cheeks said he was disappointed that the suspension wasn't longer. Didn't Nash say that Cheeks would determine the length of the suspension?

I wondered that, too. Without going back to quotes from Nash, it's possible that Cheeks could determine whether Darius was suspended, but it was up to Nash as to how long.

That would be worse, perhaps, than giving Cheeks any power in the matter at all.
