Their backup PG situation is pretty weak w/ Barbosa. So maybe that's a way that a deal could be worked directly - although I suppose they don't have matching bad contracts?
This is why you need a team like Philadelphia to join in a three way deal. They have what the Suns want and they have a large contract that they can send back to Portland. I am sure that there are other teams that Portland could work with to get a deal like this done, but I think that Philadelphia could use a player like Rahim to play second fiddle to Iverson.

So, trade Rahm, resign Damon to something reasonable over what other teams would give him, and let Nick fad off into the sunset.

Portland needs to move Rahim and they can't sit on their hands now, something has to be done and the 24th is approaching fast.

If I were POR I would NOT deal our 2005 1st round pick for Joe Johnson. The way things are going that could be a big mistake IMO.

Johnson is a pretty good player, but he isn't THE answer for all of POR woes....Not by a longshot. I would love to get him though, but I surely wouldn't include our 1st rounder this year. Not sure PHX needs it anyway, as they have CHI pick this year as well as their own.

Less than one day after ESPNInsider.com's Chad Ford fueled speculation that the Jazz are "open to" trading Carlos Boozer, the Jazz denied talking to other teams about trading the forward. Ford suggested that if the team could get a "top-flight, 40-minute-a-night point guard capable of playing the Jazz's system," they may be forced to consider dealing Boozer. While Jazz officials admitted they are more engaged in trade talk than in most years," they also claimed that they expect Boozer to play the remainder of his six-year contract in Utah.

Seriously, "open to trading forward Carlos Boozer," that's like saying you wouldn't deny Rachel Weisz if she'd like to go out for dinner and a movie. On a more applicable note, Boozer's numbers have taken a hit since the return of superstar Andrei Kirilenko; as long as AK-47 remains healthy, Boozer will play second fiddle.
