Yeah...because this is the FIRST time EVER that Dwight Jaynes has trashed Mo Cheeks.

Jaynes has been on an anti Mo Cheeks tirade for quite some time now...Canzano has nothing to do with that. And do you really think that saying the team has no direction is a good way to impress the 'quarterback?'

Last I checked, Telfair is the first guard off of the bench under Mo's current rotation. The guy left out in the cold by playing NVE and Damon as the starters is DA. I note that Jaynes doesn't make any case for putting DA back in the starting lineup even though he will be back next season (unless he's traded). I also find it funny that Jaynes includes Shareef in his little diatribe about playing guys who won't be here next season. Dwight, HELLO, Shareef's been injured since December. He's not taking minutes from anyone. Mo hasn't been starting Zach because, A) he's been injured, and B) he likes having someone in the starting lineup who will actually hit the glass and play defense.

Jaynes continues to be a pompous airhead.

No, what I'm saying is that...

- He and Eggers come out with articles on the same day, right after a major (in the continuing saga) schism with the Oregonian and the Blazers.

- Maybe Dwight is just a chump writer in general, but that article didn't look like it was much more than the ramblings of a semi-coherent man - I don't mean for its ideas, I mean for its style. In my opinion either he didn't have a lot of time to write it or he's a pretty bad writer.

- It's pretty obvious to even most disinterested observers now that Cheeks and Nash may not possibly be on the best of terms.

- Nash and Cheeks are both in contract years, and odds are that Cheeks will be gone.

- If A) Nash stays and B) Cheeks is gone and C) You want inside information or additional access or what have you from the Blazers you would tend to do things favorable for (A) in order to gain them because (B) isn't going to be able to help you much longer.

I'm not suggesting massive conspiracy here, I'm suggesting that maybe *gasp* the Tribune is trying to wedge its way into the "favorite son" position with the top of the Blazers' brass in order to get more inside scoops and *gasp* sell papers.

All of this is still a business, after all.

The Tribune would be insane not to at this point....What happened to KEX after KXL landed the Blazers? They lost a huge share of lixteners.

No in addition, the Tribune only comes out twice a week (Maybe once) so Jaynes and Eggers are always gonna have a sports article, in fact Eggers Articles always pertain to the Blazers and since there is really only The Blazers Jaynes articles usually do.

Jaynes has been the same writer for years, and this article is no different in tone or anything else than any other. Although I agree with him this time.
