Sonics rumored to be shopping Ray Allen
They can't work out a contract and are thinking of moving him. SAR for Allen straight up?
it's mentioned at the end of this article:

Re: Sonics rumored to be shopping Ray Allen
well... even if the Sonics would do that, which is slim to none... would the Blazers be willing or able to pay him his requested $90 million contract next season?

Who knows how the CBA is going to turn out. Any player making demands on his future may be in for an eye opener.

Re: Sonics rumored to be shopping Ray Allen
I doubt they will trade Ray....
BUT..2 things
1) I get tired of seeing other teams trade players and get squat in return for them... especially when I think we have more to offer them than what they got
2) We have talked about this a lot. And it has always been a function of the here and now, and the pressure to resign Ray. We talked about it countless times... if Seattle is FORCED to trade him... we could be the lucky recipients. I tall boils down to the pressure Seattle feels in resigning him or loosing him for no compensation. A S&T remains a possibility in the summer time.
after a million posts and threads last summer on it... I am not so sure one of my fave players (besides Rahim), is a good long term fit for us.... But I am sure his shooting and efforts would be a perfect fit for us. An inside outside game would thrive with Allen and Rahim or Allen and Randolph.... with Joel mopping up the messes
Would he be very expensive? you bet... I think we would have to insist he be extended before the trade... a S&T prior to the deadline
Ray is still pretty young... and would definately help us out... I think he is an awesome shooter

Oh don't get me wrong, Ray Allen is probably one of my favorite players of all time, but, I just don't know about the feasibility of Portland acquiring him!

Re: Sonics rumored to be shopping Ray Allen
If Seattle can't come to terms with Ray and are afraid of him walking, why wouled they trade him for an expiring contract from Portland?
If for some snowbalss chance there is any kindof legitimacy from Boston, or maybe Chicago could get involed as a 3rd Partner, then I could see a package of like Chandler and Davis to Seattle, Allen to Portland and Shareef to Chicago.

Maybe because we would shoot them a pick or a prospect in the deal, for what would equate to, a chance of signing Ray Allen, as opposed to having no chance during the summer (because we obviously have no caproom)?
I'm not sure, but it's possible that that could be avenue the Blazers Brass is looking to explore.
With that being said, I still don't see them dealing Ray. They've got the division locked up, essentially granting them a 3 seed, at worst. Why not play out the season and see what happens? Then try to re-sign the right parts during the off-season.

Nash has stated that he likes this years draft and he has spent alot of time overseas and at college games scouting....I think that if we give up a pick it would be a future pick.....
