Lakers: Extreme makeover
If the rumored 2x seperate trades go down
OUT = Odom, Butler, George and Divac
IN = Peja and Boozer
Pretty good deals for them I think

If the Lakers could pull something like this, i would give them my respect. Come on, Boozer and Peja. They would compliment Kobe so well. More so, they could target someone like Ilgauskas or Swift in the summer and they would be set.
Ilguaskas
Boozer
Peja
Kobe
Jackson
That line up looks pretty good.

No offense, PD, but how would the Lakers go about doing something like that when Grant, Kobe, Boozer, and Peja take up nearly pt them over the cap alone? Not to mention all of the other guys currently under contract for next season already. I was thinking that the Lakers would only be having the MLE to use on FA's for the next three (actually more like 2 and a half) seasons (when B-Grant's contract expires). It seems Swift and Ilgauskas will be making considerably more than the MLE next season, but, of course, I could be wrong.

Re: OT: interesting Laker rumors
C.Ford is now reporting that Jazz GM K.O'Conner emphatically shot down this rumor and said "its ludicrous". Lakers GM M.Kupchak concurred, telling Ford he has not offered L.Odom in any deals.

OT: Lakers/Jazz Trade
Jack Haley's reporting that the Lakers and Jazz have agreed to a deal sending Divac, Butler, and George to the Jazz for Boozer. So who's getting the better deal?
On a Blazers note, it can't hurt to have the Lakers trying to adjust their rotation when we meet up on Wednesday.

Re: Lakers/Jazz Trade
I think it's actually a pretty darn good trade for Both teams.
Boozer with Odom and Bryant is far better than Butler with those 2.
Then Butler at the 3 wwith AK47 at the 4 is also pretty dang good. George and Divac are just fillers IMO.

As I recall, he played 2G for the Jazz in the past. He's got a nice shot. Could be a fit.

Re: OT: interesting Laker rumors
I'm with Schilly. I think that deal helps both teams, it will be interesting to see if this deal becomes final before our game vs the Lakers on Wed. night.
I like Harprings game, he can shoot and he plays smart. My only concern is his durability.

OT - Report: Lakers Land Boozer
Quote:
Fox Sports Net's Jack Haley is reporting the Lakers will trade Vlade Divac, Caron Butler and Devean George to the Utah Jazz in exchange for big man Carlos Boozer, pending league approval.
Trade rumors swirled around the Lakers all through All-Star Weekend in Denver, particularly forward Lamar Odom. One report Sunday said Odom had been offered to the Kings for All-Star forward Peja Stojakovic. And another said that Odom was dangled to Utah in a Boozer trade.
But the Los Angeles Times reported Monday that the Lakers said Odom had not been discussed in any trade talks.
The NBA's trade deadline is Thursday.

So the first deal after the All Star Break has gone down.........do you think that the phones at One Center Court are busy?
