Travis Outlaw

I heard a comment last night on the radio that the Blazers should play Outlaw now to showcase him to teams and possibly raise his trade value for this summer. With him being so young, isn't it possible that he could be the back-up power forward that can play multiple positions the Blazers will want in the next year or two? By not playing major minutes his first couple of years in the league, he probbably won't demand a huge salary at first, so he'd be less expensive then trying to re-sign SAR to come off the bench. And being only 19 of 20 years old, he could still grow in height and fill out his frame to be a solid, quick PF. I've heard his dad is pretty built, and did anyone see his brother play for the Reign? What was he built like?

Go Blazers

Re: Travis Outlaw

From reports Outlaw is being groomed as a slashing 2/3 more then a 4 down on the block. Supposively the Blazers have him working on his jumper nonstop. Again according to reports, he works out constantly, so I doubt that Travis will be matching his dad's 300+ pounds anytime soon.

Since he is under contract through next season with team options for 2 more years after that, there is no need to resign him.

Another DNP-coaches decision last night. Meanwhile, the starters pulled out a 1 point home victory over the lowly Hawks (did you see the Hawks line-up last night?) The guy should get at least 10 minutes every night given our situation.

Wow, I didn't realize the Blazers had 2 team options after next season, cool. I just hope they don't give him up in a trade. I don't believe the Blazers can get Redd or Ray Allen which are the only two players I'd like to see that could fit with this team and could make a real difference. I don't know much about Joe Johnson, and I've heard some say he's a solid outside shooter who can play within a good system.

Re: Travis Outlaw

We should keep Travis! The sky is the limit with this kid. If a kid of his athletic ability, attitude, and a nicely developing jump shot were coming out of HS or college, he'd probably be a top pick.

Who knows, he may even be the SG of the future for the Blazers.

Re: Travis Outlaw

his brother is short (well, if 6'2" is short) and muscular.

Didn't his brother play on the Reign as well?

I seem to remember seeing him play at that one Reign game we "all" attended.

yep. and irrc, he scored like 60 points, and had 20 rebounds, and 1 assist.
