a bit of a homer pick
does anyone expect David Lucas to make it into the 1st round? Or is he a 2nd rounder at best? I haven't seen his name on nbadraft.net (tho I might've just missed it).
Some might say he's a little short to play a PF, altho he's only an inch shorter than Zach, and the same height as James Thomas.
I think he could be a decent pickup (I would guess with a 2nd round pick, depending on how many picks the team gets) in the draft.
Partly for "pr" relations (being Maurice Lucas's son) but also because he's actually a pretty decent player. Doubtful he'll ever be a starter (altho you never know) but he's pretty good in the paint.

Re: a bit of a homer pick
Since you mention him, I think I'd rather see James Thomas backing up Zach.

I like Thomas too, and he did put up better rebounding #'s in college, but I don't think either one would be a huge "upgrade" over the other.

Re: a bit of a homer pick
I think Lucas will be like a Sam Clancy of a couple years ago....Might be one of the last picks in the draft...or could go undrafted....He's playing good basketball, but will probably get overlooked because their is other guys out there with more upside....

I agree that niether would be a big upgrade over the other, and since that's the case, I'd rather take my chances on signing Thomas during the offseason and using the draft pick on someone else.

Re: a bit of a homer pick
I absoltely hate OSU Football, but I root for their BBall team every now and then. I was actually a fan during the Bones Barry and Mustapha Hoff days. Anyhoo, I would pick him up in the 2nd round. He has got to show more tenacity on the glass though. We know he can hit the mid ranger, but we need as many glass cleaners as possible.
