One Primary Reason Bonzi Went Off Last Night...

...at least, IMO.

Scottie trotted out a little Jackson-esque Zen as a motivational tool.

Quote:
"I think he (Bonzi) needs to challenge himself and see if he wants it. You have to want to be a superstar in this league, and I'm not sure Bonzi wants to be. . . .

.....And I think that comes from growing up and maturing. Learning how to avoid situations of being tossed out of games, getting technicals, being distracted by opponents that want to take you out of your game, and accepting how to deal with coaching as well as criticism."
Now, let's see if Bonzi can stay on track.

I'd say Jason Richardson being completely inept at D is another prime reason. The W's are vulnerable to good 2 guards, and really have no one who matches up well against Wells. It will be interesting to see Kobe and his bum knee trying to contain him. Bonzi is moving well again after a stretch there where his foot was limiting him. Mix in some confidence from the Warrior wipeout and he's a load. I expect him to go right at Bryant.

I thought that it was because Chris Mills didn't play!

Happy to see Bonzi have a good game last night, now lets see him bring it with him to Los Angeles!

There was no double team. I don't think that Richardson was even matched up on Wells, was he? It was Jamison and then Dunleavy. I might be wrong, but I can't imagine that Jamison was guarding DA much (if at all) and I remember Bonzi blowing by both Jamison and Dunleavy, but not so much against Richardson (maybe he was off-camera? )

As I remember it

I was kind of watching that myself Ed, and as I remember it, they tried a whole slew of people, and then I noticed in the second half they started running the PF at him as well in order to get the ball out of his hands. It wasn't anybody in particular who was on him, but they pretty much tried the whole team at one point or another besides the centers and PF.
