Re: When should we expect a playoff team?
I picked 2007, as in next year (this season being 2005-2006). This year we'll be lousy and fun. Things should start to gel by year end, and next season (2006-2007) the team should be able to get to above .500 -- just enough to sneak into the playoffs. It is a minimum of 4 seasons before the team could contend.

the 06-07 team should be making the playoffs (well, I think the team should make it next year, but Im not holding my breath), and by 2009 be hopefully one of the better teams.

Right. Based on the voting so far, it's looking like a whole lot of us think we're making the playoffs this year, and at least one person thinks we're making them last year. Maybe it's worth redoing the poll, perhaps even making it a public poll?

Re: When should we expect a playoff team?
Oh brother. 2005 = 05-06, 2006 = 06-07, 2007 = 07-08. I mean, come on. This is supposed to be easy. When you see 2005, you don't think "Wow, last year is an option?" You think "Okay, he's going by starting year for the poll." It's not rocket surgery.

It was from an Eggo commercial -- something like "We're a waffle company, but we don't sell syrup. I mean come on, it's not rocket surgery!" I really like that particular mixed metaphor.

Re: When should we expect a playoff team?
I am going to say Nate will really get these young guys playing hard. Travis will continue to develop into a star and in 2007 Martell will be ready to play major minutes as well.
