Re: Grgs Issue Resolved
Does this mean we get Carmelo or Nene in return?

Re: Grgs Issue Resolved
Huge loss for the Blazers, as young as they are all-around. Still, Grgs was mentally and emotionally gone already.
Would be nice for the Blazers to add another pick or two to the pile for next season. Nash & Co.'s best moves seem to be their draft-day deals.

Re: Grgs Issue Resolved
It was obviously just a bunch of posturing, and since Grgs had no obvious case to stand on, it was pretty clear the team would win in the end.
Too bad we didn't get something in return for Cheeks when we had the chance. Imagine our inept coaching netting us 3-4 draft picks!

What do you mean?
How did the team win? Grgs wanted to coach elsewhere or, at minimum, be paid for coaching somewhere.
It's clear he's getting what he wants. Whether the Blazers get what THEY want (some compensation for him) is not clear.
Last week the court, while denying injunctive relief, stated that Grg's claim was slightly stronger than the Blazers'. That seems to be at odds with your assertion that Grgs didn't have a case.
Glad that this is moving forward, though, and hope the Blazers get something from the Nuggets.

Re: Grgs Issue Resolved
it also was a joke i knew they were joking any ways 1st round pick and 550,000 would be good i doubt they would do that much though.

I must've missed last week's report. I don't see Grgs having any shred of a case, and since the Blazers are reportedly getting compensation for releasing him from his contract, it seems pretty clear to me that the Nuggets and Grgs' lawyers are in agreement. The Blazers win because they get rid of an unneeded headache, save a ton of money, and supposedly get something in return.

Re: Grgs Issue Resolved
As much as it hurts to lose a guy who's so great with young players, it's ultimately up to the players to realize their full potential. The fact that we have turned Mo Cheeks and his staff into Nate McMillan, Monty Williams, Maurice Lukas and Co. more than make up for what Tim Grgurich brought to the table...
It's too bad the guy was so emotional about the whole thing. It would have been a fine marriage.

Here is what we get out of the deal:

If the Nuggets have a higher second-round pick than the Blazers in 2011, Portland would receive the higher pick. The Blazers also can choose defer the swap until 2012.

Re: Grgs Issue Resolved
A second rounder in 2011 or 2012? Was it even worth the trouble?
