Re: JASON QUICK CHAT@ 1 PM - Breaking Blazer news: Ruben (Merged)
Quick just told 1080 that the Blazers turned down a trade for a back-up power forward on a team we're playing on this road trip; he promised Rube's agent that he wouldn't reveal names.
Any ideas?

Gee, would a face like this embellish, relate half-truths, or out-and-out lie?

I hope it wasn't Etan Thomas (that Nash turned down)... that guy would be an excellent addition to our team (especially if it were at the cost of Patterson). I don't care what his contract is like (though, Nash might ), he's an excellent person and a pretty damn solid big man, as well.
That being said, the offer that he turned down, was probably Malik Rose. And, if that's the case, I don't blame him.

Philadelphia doesn't have good matching salaries.
Atlanta has Harrington, but I doubt the Blazers would turn down an expiring contract.
The Wizz have Etan Thomas and Brendan Haywood. Both have long contracts (09-10)
Orando doesn't really have any contracts that match up
Miami the same.
NY the only offer they can make is Malik Rose.
Memphis the same (at least no one they'd be willing to trade)
those are my guesse

I'm happy to be me.
I'd like to say I made this, but I didn't

Just listen to the archive and two things hit me as funny. One was Quick saying 'oh ****' and the other is that Ruben's agent saying no way he'll drop next year contract. If that's the case then quit whining and live up to your contract.
