it's not about shot totals in comparison to Kobe. It's about how Kobe isn't playing a game that helps the Lakers start winning. trust in his teammates would help.

You want to punish Zach for nothing. Just something you percieve as being the case. That would send the wrong message and alienate Zach from the team, not to mention make the team worse.

I'm saying this as if Nate wants to do it. I think it's fairly easy to see that Nate isn't happy with Zach's "stat" mindset. I don't see how it "sends the wrong message to Zach" (whatever that implies). The team is more important than Zach's individiual stats.

The way to handle it is on a game to game basis. If, in a particular game, he's not playing defense or not playing within the system, or whatever, then you take him out of the game and tell him that a half-effort will not be allowed.

I'm sure thats what they're doing now.

I wonder why you haven't been so adamant about benching your boy Telfair, who is guilty of having several more lackluster games than Zach, as well as having a more justifiable backup.

Because Telfair isn't the main cog on offense, thats why. Because Telfairs stats actually show, outside of the first 2 games, he's shooting good. Because when Telfair is having a 'sub-par' offensive game, he's still running the team. If he starts playing selfish, and chucking up shots after shots and doesn't include others in the offense, than yah, take him out. He's still distributing the ball better.
His defense is sub par though
