The future goes past this season.
I'm not 100% attached to Miles, but sometimes players get injured and miss games. He could still be our future.
In fact, you could argue that if he misses the season, he is even more likely our future.
Or, you could just *****.

He got it from the Jason Quick chat today. According to Quick, Zach Randolph told Darius not to rush back to the team. If he needs to, take the whole year off so you know you're healthy.
Zach Randolph isn't a medical expert, so I don't think I'll take his advice.

Re: Miles is not our future!
He may not be an expert, but he may be speaking from experience. I haven't had a knee surgery and I am not an athlete, so I have no idea how hard it is to come back and how much time it takes. I think Zach probably has a better idea about that, and the ramifications of coming back too early.

They're two completely different surguries. Not even close to the same.

Re: Miles is not our future!
That does not matter. A lot of players try to come back too soon from surgeries all the time. All he has to do is emphasize that point. Does Antonio McDyess ring a bell? How about Jamal Mashburne? If you come back too early you risk more damage then you originally did.

Saying 'Don't back too soon is one thing.' is one thing. Saying 'Sit out the whole season for a surgery that typically takes a 6 weeks to come back from' is another.

exactly, let's not put too much into Zach Randolph saying to Darius, if you have to sit out the year, go ahead.
For starters, it gives Zach more shots..and secondly, well, it just gives Zach more shots.
but really, this is what people are basing this on? Jason Quick saying that Zach Randolph told Darius not to rush coming back?
Plus, this IS Jason Quick we're talking about. THe same Jason Quick that doesn't understand the CBA. The same Jason Quick who takes things personal and allows it to affect his articles. The same Jason Quick who reported we had hired Iavaroni as coach.

Re: Miles is not our future!
For all those people who said Darius Miles didn't play hard, look at what happenned. I remember in the early part of the season he had some problems with his knee but he played through it and didn't complain. Is it Darius' fault that the first doctor didn't perform the surgery right and he got an infection, no!?
