He had 4 rebounds early in the 2nd quarter. Guess he decided 4 was plenty.

Re: Wow, Monia....
Hell yeah!
Martell lead both sides in scoring with 18 and Sergei dropped 14, third overall only to Martell and Torian Jones who scored 16. Not bad.

Re: Wow, Monia....
PLAYER MIN / FG / 3PT / FT / RB /AS/ PF/ PT
Martell Webster 29 / 7-10 / 1-2 / 3-4 / 4 / 2 / 2 / 18
Sergei Monia 25 / 7-11 / 0-3 /0-0 / 5 / 1 / 4 / 14
not too bad for bench minutes from the two.

This is about what I expected of them. I want to see Martell drop 30+ though. I think he's capable of it.

Re: Wow, Monia....
Now......they need to repeat this game over and over and over and over and over and over.
Then, Webster and Monia can contribute to our team next year with confidence.

Yeah definitely. I think he will as soon as he starts on this team. He got 30 minutes tonight, if he can get closer to 40, I think he could get it on a good night.

The Fort Worth "Affiliates" are the Mavs, Warriors, Lakers, and the Blazers.

Re: Wow, Monia....
While playing big minutes would be nice, you have to realize these teams exist to improve all the players, not necessarily to win games. It will only be a matter of time before Martell and Monia grab a bigger share of the minutes, and then begin to get more consistency to each of their respective games. The influx of NBA players to Forth Worth over the last 2 weeks has infused them and made them a much tougher team, but has also crunched the playing time for those already there.

Re: Wow, Monia....
Solid stats by both Blazers. More importantly, IMO, is the way Webster bounced back after a bad game and the announcers being impressed with him.
While a string of bad games could do some real harm to the youngster, a string of good games could lead to some much needed confidence.
