Which Blazer has the best sense of humor?
Which Blazer tells the worst jokes?
Which Blazer pulls the most and/or best practical jokes?

Re: I "Hope" To Interview Wheels..
1. How do you cope with broadcasting along side Harvey - Drugs or alcohol? (j/k Harvey has gotten better)
2. How do you cope with the current season - Drugs or alcohol?
3. What is currently the best thing Blazer fans have going for them - Drugs or alcohol?
4. What do the Blazers take right before the fourth period - Drugs or alcohol?
Three serious questions I'd like you to ask:
1. Do you think the Blazers will stay in Portland and do you think Paul Allen will be the owner?
2. My favorite all-time call by him was when we were playing Utah and he said, "You can hear a mormon pin drop at the Delta Center!" I thought it was hilarious, but could you ask him if he got in trouble for that? Just curious, thanks.
And of course...
3. Do you think we can get rid of Miles in the off-season?

Re: I "Hope" To Interview Wheels..
Here is a question I would like to get an honest answer on.
Why has the team not made Wheels the face of the organization like they did for Shonz? Does he think that his weight is part of the reason?
I love Wheels and sent him an email recently expressing to him how much I appreciated his enthusiasm. I personally feel he is very underappreciated.

I totally agree. I know some people don't like how he sounds when the Blazers are losing (like it's the end of the world) but I like that emotion. You feel the ups and downs of the game as a fan, instead of just a bland commentary of whats happening.

You're too young to remember how good the Schonz really was, and I don't mean that in a bad way. Wheels is great, but Schonz should be in the Hall of Fame alongside Chick Hearn.

Re: I "Hope" To Interview Wheels..
If we had the first pick in the draft and you were in charge of making it, who would you pick?
Would it be better to make the draft pick ourselves or trade it?
If you would trade the pick, who or what for?
Is it better to draft the best player at any position or draft for need?
Which of the top draft prospects would you be most disappointed to see us pick?
How important is character in building a team?
Were the "bad characters" as bad as we were led to believe?
Did we make the right decision to blow the team up to get rid of the bad characters?
Which one player from this team do you think is most likely to not be here next year?
What kind of player should we target in a trade?
What is the biggest thing we are missing to become a playoff team again?
When will we become a playoff team again?
Which current Trailblazer has the best chance of being a future star?
How much money is Joel worth?
How much do you expect Joel to be offered?
Will we get a home team discount from Joel?
How much more would another team have to offer Joel to make him take the money?
Thanks for answering our questions!

Re: I "Hope" To Interview Wheels..
What is the overall mood on the team? Are they discouraged from the losing or are they using the losses as a learning experience?

Re: I "Hope" To Interview Wheels..
As I'll be heading out there tomorrow morning, here's the list that I'm going with:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RedHot&Rolling asks:
Q: Who is your pick as our SF of the future?
Q: Who do you think will be the PG of the future?
Q: Do you think Joel will stay with the Trail Blazers?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hap asks:
1. Do you guys mind sitting next to John Canzano and Jason Quick? (subtext: I realize that you guys have a different kind of view of the team than us fans, and that you might not take what they say as harshly as we do, because you might be seeing what it is they are referring to and it's more truth than we fans want to admit)
2. Anyway that you can invite..ooh....3 of us posters to a practice one day? (I think Howie and Schilly know who I'm talking about)
3. Do you notice a significant difference between Antonio and Mike Rice (besides that one is a former star in basketball, and the other went to Michelle Pfeiffer University..JUST kidding Antonio) in their pre-game preparation?
4. What happens if you drop a colorful metaphor during the game? Such. "Steve Javie made the most horrible bleeping bleep of a bleeping call, that stupid son of a bleeping bleep bleep!"?
5. Need anyone to carry your bags on that long road trip coming up? Er...
6. Understanding that you're being paid by the Trail Blazers, do you really think that you could've lived with yourself if you actually had been named the Lakers play-by-play man, knowing the absolute white hot hatred we Blazer fans have for that team?
7. Most importantly. Ric Flair or Ricky Steamboat?
8. Do you think you'll ever have a talk-show in Portland (because god knows we need some decent local sports shows) like you did in Sacramento?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
bbAlvin asks:
1. Outside of anyone on the current roster, who are your five favorite Blazers since you've been with the team? And why?
2. Does Travis Outlaw play as tentatively in practice as he does in games? If not, do you think he'll realize his potential with more playing time or is he missing something else that prevents him from taking the next step?
3. Which current Blazer works the hardest on his game during practice, outside of practice, etc?
Thank you for your time and keep up the good work. I've come to enjoy your style and your new partner is growing on me too.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
crandc (the Cake Lady) asks:
1. Is it difficult to broadcast a game when the team is having their heads handed to them? You don't want to pretend all is well but you can't just keep saying "oh man they are getting killed". How do you be honest without sounding like a doomsayer?
2. You took over the job from Bill Schonley who was a broadcasting legend. How tough was that? How do you deal with the inevitable Schonz comparisons?
3. Is Rice still filching bits of chocolate off my desserts? (no, skip that one!)
4. Describe differences working with different partners. You have worked with Mike Rice and now Antonio Harvey; do you need to adjust your broadcasting style to work with different partners?
5. Who is your favorite current Blazer to interview? Past Blazer? Non-player in the Blazers organization?
6. The Sporting News recently reported that during his brief NBA career, Shawn Respert was suffering from stomach cancer and had, in fact, been given only a 50/50 chance of surviving. He did not make that public, and unfortunately was widely regarded as a bust, when in fact he was seriously ill.
If you were hearing the fans/media slam a player, and you knew something about the player that would mitigate that (i.e. a case like Shawn Respert) but the information was confidential, how do you balance the journalistic ethics of maintaining confidentiality with the humanitarian impulse to save a person's reputation?
(is that too confusing? I though of it because only a very few people knew Respert was so sick and had to be silent while everydamnbody ridiculed and denounced him.)
7. What is the overall mood on the team? Are they discouraged from the losing or are they using the losses as a learning experience?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SodaPopinski asks:
1. What motivates you on a game-to-game basis? I imagine, like the players, it can be difficult to "get up" for games when you know there's a good chance the team will lose.
2. What's the strangest thing that's ever happened during a game you've broadcast?
3. If there was something you could impart to the fans about this team/organization that would make us optimistic about the future, what would it be?
4. Best game to call as a Blazer broadcaster? Game 6 of the 2000 Western Conference Finals? Perhaps Game 5 vs. Utah in the 2000 Western Conference Semi-Finals?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Utherhimo asks:
What players have you been watching in the ncaa that could be in the draft?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Backboard Cam asks:
How did you come up with BOOM-SHAKA-LAKA!!!? I remember it from the original NBA JAM for SNES, was it around before that? Do people on the street ask you to say it?
Antonio has an... interesting sense of humor. So does Mike Rice. You are the straight man, how is it different playing the straight man for Harvey vs Rice?
PS: pantyhose
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zidane asks:
Who do u think were gonna draft?
Who do u think will be on the roster next year?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BlazerWookie asks:
Which Blazer has the best sense of humor?
Which Blazer tells the worst jokes?
Which Blazer pulls the most and/or best practical jokes?
You're too young to remember how good the Schonz really was, and I don't mean that in a bad way. Wheels is great, but Schonz should be in the Hall of Fame alongside Chick Hearn.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
