Re: No Blazer Participation in All Star Weekend?
If anything Jack is the only player on the Blazers' roster that even derserves ANY consideration in the rookie game. Blazers did not get snubbed. The players just don't get any playing time to put up any numbers. Don't blame the voters, blame the management.

telfair was there easily before he got hurt - even if he wasn't playing that
well he had the needed hype behind him. just bad timing in his case.

I'm right there with ya, theWanker. In fact, I just whined to Nash about it (Sebastian and Travis not getting invites to those events). I know it won't do any good this time around, but I think he needs to know we fans are steamed about the (continuing) All-Star Blazers drought.

Re: No Blazer Participation in All Star Weekend?
That's management's fault.
There needs to be some sort of push on the part of the Marketing VP to the league or the organizers. The all-star game is all about national and international exposure, but hell, we could use the local exposure too.
Between the slam dunk contest, 3pt shooting contest and other activities, we should have gotten at least ONE player in there.
Maybe James Robinson could come back and represent us in the dunk competition if baggage handling misplaces Nate Robinson in transit.

Forget about numbers, Zach Randolph belongs in the All-Star game.

or Marion, or Gasol... Zach is well down on the list of deserving candidates. That doesn't mean that I'm down on him btw, I'm pretty pleased that he's done as well as he has coming off the knee issues.
I would have liked to have seen Travis in the dunk contest though... I see no reason that Warrik is there ahead of him.

Telfair wasn't even close...before his injury. Who are you going to take off...not Ford, not Nelson, not Howard, not Harris. All those guards are well ahead of Telfair on the depth chart.

Fords a 3rd year player, but you're right. Telfair didn't really deserve to get on the 2nd team, but they should have more than 9 roster spots.

Yes I know Ford is third year but it's already been discussed why he is there (injury etc) plus even without Ford I am not sure I would put Telfair next in line. Agreed on the roster size.

Re: No Blazer Participation in All Star Weekend?
I swore off the All-Star game after watching Paul Westphal play "Thunder" Dan Majerle more minutes than the voter-chosen starter. Drexler barely got into the damn game thanks to that *******. What a joke.

what? no. at the time of his injury telfair had slightly better numbers than either harris or nelson, and was getting more hype because of his reputation as a flashy player. if the voting had been held at that point he would definitely have made it. jameer has come on a lot since then, but i think there's every chance telfair would have improved a lot also if things hadn't changed.
i assume you mean gordon, although it would be interesting to see howard try to play guard.

Yeh I meant Gordon....either way though I don't think Telfair would have beat out any of those guys even if he hadn't gotten injured. If he had stats close to those of Nelson or Harris then the tiebreaker would have been team sucess/record and Telfair would still lose out.
