Re: Mike Barrett calls out Spurs/Ginobli
Either that, or let HA come in for a play and then let Ginobili come down the lane and find out what real physical contact is like so the referee's can gain some perspective.

But I thought broom sticks weren't allowed on the court during the game.

Yeah, but the Argies only won by one goal. Besides, Ginobili's a great player too.

As an American, I can tell you that murdering defenseless women and in fact all-round homicidal violence is a proud English tradition.
Google Jack The Ripper if you don't believe me.
You might find a bit of enlightenment here:
"The Hand of God"
Oswald W.S. McCall
Be under no illusion, you shall gather to
yourself the images you love. As you go, the
shapes, the lights, the shadows of the things you
have preferred will come to you, yes, inveterately,
inevitably as bees to their hive. And there in your
mind and spirit they will leave with you their
distilled essence, sweet as honey or bitter as gall,
and you will grow unto their likeness because their
nature will be in you.
As men see the color in the wave so shall
men see in you the thing you have loved most.
Out of your eyes will look the spirit you have chosen.
In your smile and in your frown the years will speak.
You will not walk nor stand nor sit, nor will
your hand move, but you will confess the one you
serve, and upon your forehead will be written his
name as by a revealing pen.
Cleverness may select skillful words to cast
a veil about you, and circumspection may never
sleep, yet will you not be hid. No.
As year adds to year, that face of yours,
which once like an unwritten page, lay smooth in
your baby crib, will take to itself lines, and still
more lines, as the parchment of an old historian
who jealously sets down all the story. And there,
more deep than acids etch the steel, will grow the
inscribed narrative of your mental habits, the
emotions of your heart, your sense of conscience,
your response to duty, what you think of your God
and of your fellowmen and of yourself. It will all
be there. For men become like that which they
love, and the name thereof is written on their brow.

Re: Mike Barrett calls out Spurs/Ginobli
Almost every player whines at the refs, and takes a few flops. Just because Ginobli is foreign it's a bigger deal.

I think Ginobli does it to a larger degree than most players.
That said, I don't mind. He's a fun player to watch on a fun team to watch.

Re: Mike Barrett calls out Spurs/Ginobli
I was following this conversation pleasantly....until I read someone talking bad about Maradona......
Diego was the best football player of all time...in my opinion. Forget Pele....it is Diego time.....
In fact... a friend of mine was going down to Argentina because he kind of lives there on and off. Well...he happened to borrow a shirt of mine and wore it for 2 months when he was working in the rain forest.....needless to say it was ruined. So, I told him to just get me a cheap shirt in Argentina to pay me back. And Bojo, my friend, knew of all things...to get me a Maradona shirt..
This is off topic.....but don't talk about the legend.

The "legend" had a pretty nasty coke habit.

Re: Mike Barrett calls out Spurs/Ginobli
I am well aware of Diego's past. I know the bad things he got into. It doesn't make me think any less of him as a phenomenal player though. That guy could just flat out play.
And speaking of past coke addictions... That doesn't stop some people from supporting our very own president........

Re: Mike Barrett calls out Spurs/Ginobli
I watched the Golden State game last night, and San Antonio got the calls the same as they did in the Portland game. At least its nice knowing that Portland isn't the only team being completely screwed by the refs whenever SA comes to town. Ginoboli didn't even do as good as job flopping, and still got the calls.
