Are we interested in?
Just some of the players being apparently available for trade......
are we interested in any of them? are they available for a commodity we have?
Perhaps:
Rashard Lewis? even though a SF, he is still young and possibly by thinning the herd at SF we gain in talent. Perhaps a three way deal to brighten the future
Drew Gooden? I mentioned him this summer. Maybe a backup PF candidate
maybe others you have heard of... what say you?

Dwight Gooden is a coke addict.
He had a good fastball and a wicked curve when he was 20-22 years old.

Re: Are we interested in?
Cato.
He has an expiring contract and could help at PF and C. Orlando is looking for a PG in return. I think we have one too many PGs, although I'm not sure which one I want to get rid of.
Blake and filler (Ruben? please) for Cato (expiring contract)? I hate to lose Blake, but we need to make a decsion on who our PGs are going to be. Personally, I'd rather get rid of Telfair for some value, but in this trade Blake makes more sense.
Realistic:
Blake + Ruben + 2006 second round pick for
Cato
In my Dreams:
Telfair + Ruben (or Miles?) + Detroit's 2006 first rounder for
Cato + Orlando's 2006 or 2007 first rounder (or rights to Fran Vasquez).

Re: Are we interested in?
Reportedly the reason the Pistons made the deal was to clear cap room to sign their own FA's this summer, so it's unlikely they will then deal Cato for R. Patterson's contract.

Cato's already been moved.... and Orlando doesn't want a PG. We now have 5. Even before the trade it was at 4. . . . .
Detroit on the other hand wants another PG and I could see Jarret Jack moved, but with the huge contract differences, it won't work.

Sorry, I forgot Cato was the ballast in the Darko deal. Orlando also got their PG.

Jarrett Jack is, in my opinion, the LEAST likely Blazer to be moved this or next year.
Every time I turn around, somebody is singing his praises.

Re: Are we interested in?
I would love to see Rashard Lewis here even if he is a SF...
Miles and Ratliff for Lewis?
Dunno if something like that would even work. Plus I doubt Seattle would make a trade with us...and I certainly know they would never take Ruben.

Re: Are we interested in?
Rashard won't be traded---this year at least. He's been paranoid about it ever since GP/DMase were traded....I guess he viewed them as untouchable and thinks now that even he, a Sonic his whole career, could be traded as well. & of course he loves talking to the media about it & in return they love to publish it. He needs to shut his mouth....
& the only player I would desire to have that is somewhat realistic would be Paul Pierce in return. I like Shard, but his defense is ATROCIOUS. When they were winning it wasn't a big deal, but when they are losing it is very obvious how bad he is on that end. I guess it doesn't help that he is playing through injuries (right thigh contusion, sprained ankle, bruised ego) right now, but still, even when he is healthy it is an ugly thing to watch.

Re: Are we interested in?
Ruben would be a great player for detroit. An extra sf who would be great down the stretch.
Orlandos pick from detroit, some type of 3 team trade perhaps orlandos pick to us ruben to detroit theo to ny whoever .Something like that would be a great trade.
I wish we could get nenad krystic and channing frye but i doubt that would happen.

Sadly, no matter how many times we say this, Joe D. is too smart to buy it. The Pistons have Mo Evans and Carlos Delfino backing up the swing positions. Both are younger and more talented than Ruben. Plus a lot cheaper (part of the reason for offloading Darko was to ensure Detroit had the moolah for Ben Wallace's upcoming extension). Plus they're not, y'know, MORONS. Detroit has great chemistry. Ruben is not good for anybody's chemistry.
Once more, for emphasis: all Detroit needs or wants is a backup PG and possibly a 7-footer, as they do get pushed around (even Joel looked good against them). Steve Blake or Joel are about all that would remotely interest them from our roster.

No and No.
I don't think that either or BOTH of these additions will markedly improve our team. Not the type of players we need really....

Re: Are we interested in?
WHAT IF???? 2 trades go down
Say the NY trade talks have legs and somethign similar to this happens (as others say it might)
Theo $10.6 mil + Miles +6.8 mil = $17.4 mil goes for Penny $15.75 mil + Lee $0.9 mil = $16.65 mil total (or maybe Frye)
We also drop $1.65 mil in salary in exchange
Then perhaps Charlotte has enough salary cap room (Storyteller or Schilly help me out here)..... we then trade Ruben $7.7 mil or so to Charlotte for Ely $2.4 mil (We drop about $5.3 mil in salary right away)
Both trades net us about $6.95 mil more in salary loss
PORTLAND ROSTER
PG Blake, Jack, Telfair
SG Dixon, Webster, Monia, Hardaway
SF Khryapa, Outlaw, (Monia)
PF Randolph, Ely
C Przybilla, Lee or Frye, Ha

Re: Are we interested in?
I wanna find a way to get Mickael Pietrus on this team. Maby a trade that originates around Bassy for Pietrus.
