How does Denver get screwed?

They get a 15 ppg scorer in Crawford, and a swingman with potential in Outlaw for a PG that can't shoot and a big man who they will not be able to afford with Carmelo due a max extension.

Re: Blockbuster 3 way POR/NY/DEN (IDEA)

I also am intrigued by this scenario, although I don't really want to give up on Outlaw and send him to Denver.
However, wouldn't this put us in a position where we need to sign both Joel and Nene.
We also would have to sign Nene without being able to see how he responded to the surgery, that seems risky, but if we were just looking to dump salary then it is a pretty decent option.

Re: Blockbuster 3 way POR/NY/DEN (IDEA)

I would love to have Nene....When healthy he is a good scoring/rebounding big man who could mix it up at Center as well as the 4....

Lets do it.

I love this trade. Nene wasa developing into a very good player until the injury. I think Nene and Lee would bring some toughness to this team that we sorley lack. Follow this trade up with a Telfair for Mickael Pietrus deal...

Jarrett Jack
Mickael Pietrus
Darius Miles
Zach Randolph
Nene or Joel

Big, strong and athletic defensive minded team.

Last but not least, you need to title your thread as "Hypothetical" and not lead people to believe a trade went down.
Nene would be an interesting addition to the Trailblazers, Portland would have to resign Joel and Nene, but if they were able to it would make for a soild front line rotation of Joel, Randolph, Nene and Lee. If Portland could rid themselves of the contracts of Theo, Miles, and Patterson I am sure that this trade idea would be very sweet for Portland. It cleans up the swingman department too. Below is the FYI on Nene, maybe it's not that crazy.

Quote:
ESPN - Denver Nuggets forward Nene may resume practicing in early April, the team's strength coach said.

Nene tore ligaments in his right knee in the team's season opener against the San Antonio Spurs .

Strength coach Steve Hess said he has worked with about 30 players with similar injuries, but has never seen a recovery faster than Nene's. Nene spends between 90 minutes and three hours six days a week rehabilitating his knee and working out.

Hess recently measured Nene at 264 pounds, with 9 percent body fat, compared with 268 pounds and 11 percent body fat in early November.

"You tell me how many people doing rehab drop their body fat," Hess said. "[Nene] looks unbelievable. His body fat is down, he's totally into it. He's restructuring his whole body."

Re: Blockbuster 3 way POR/NY/DEN

Another bonus of getting Nene is it allows us to shop Zach and his bloaded contract. Some people justd dont realize that paying 85 million to a defensivley challenged #2 option at best is going to eat up our cap flexibility for years. Randolph is making Elton Brand like money and is not even nearly the player Brand is.
