Oops!
Seems we had an excellent shooting guard all along:
Patterson, who is starting at the '2' for George Karl, has been solid since being traded. He has appeared in five games for the Nuggets, getting 30.7 minutes per game while scoring 12.8 ppg on 50% shooting from the floor. He is also getting 4.6 rpg and 2.6 apg.

good thing he's all the sudden learned how to shoot outside shots, ain't it?

Re: Oops!
Care to bet as to how many of those shots are from outside point blank range? The Nuggets can get away with it because Arenas and Carmello can both shoot from the perimeter consistently. Patterson isn't a shooting guard and wouldn't be able to co-exist with Zach on the court at the same time. The Blazers need a shooting guard who can stick an outside jumper.

Nonsense. They have co-existed and complemented each other's game for years now.
And we don't need a SG who can hit 3's as long as Telfair and Blake can do it, which they have done consistently all year.

Re: Oops!
I'm not convinced that Ruben could have been that successful with the current Blazers, but it just goes to show that John Nash seems to be wrong more often than most GMs when he makes public comments.
First it was the "I'd take Kenyon Martin over Rasheed Wallace" comment, and then the "Ruben will be what he's always been: a bench player".
It's not necessary to turn this into another Nash-bashing thread (because I don't think that many people would still be willing to defend his weak-*** GMship with the Blazers beyond blaming Patterson/Allen for the horrible team we currently have)... but I see Ruben's success as another indictment of Nash more than I see it as a "he would be doing it here" situation.

Re: Oops!
Ruben had to go, no matter what. Even though he's a good player and I appreciated his game while he was here, he didn't fit right in the direction the Blazers are going in.

No, Thomas and his guys weren't the only ones in the wrong Saturday. The Nuggets have their own issues. But when it was over, at least they weren't crying, at least they weren't punking.
It's all gone in New York now – the pride, the respect, the dignity. This isn't just a bad team; this is a bad act. A once proud franchise and fan base brought to its knees as its pathetic coach makes excuses and whines for mercy.

South sure seems like the direction they're going in right now, but Ruben was taking minutes away from Travis, Viktor and... I guess Darius, even though I prefer him not getting much, so Ruben needed to go.
As for Nash getting fired soon, I hope so. He began on a plan when he first came here, but has gotten away from it several times.

Re: Oops!
i dont regret this trade, because brian skinner, man this guy comes to play everynight, he brought his a-game on the rockets, blocking ming like 3 times, he is a smart center and agressive center, he knows how to go after blocks w/o the getting called for, this guy comes to play man.

Now you come in here and talk smack about the Blazers?
How long have the nuggets been rebuilding?
27 years? Give me a break. Even this year they will fall short. I predict Portland will win a championship before the Nuggets. George Karl couldn't win with talent in Seattle. He was the GM, Part owner and HC in Milwaukee and sucked there. Give him 1 more years and his players will turn on him again. Denver made the playoff like twice in 15 years and you come in here and kick us when we rebuild after 20 yrs in the playoff. Very classy.

WTF??? that was smack? surely its not blazers fans' fault their GM is a retard.
no need to get all offensive, damn!
i just asked what direction u guys are going in (aka the "serious" part). seems like nash is trying to make the team the worst in the league. the jailblazers were tight. now u guys are worse after this recent trade.
damn! i like blazers fans! reminds me of the nuggets days like u mentioned. blazers have some of the most fans on this board. that means there are a lot of "real" fans here. ob | |
