To all Blazer Fans
Does anyone think that his knee injury maybe have a little to do with his recent play? I mean, I know Darius has never been a Ruben type, but at the beginning of the year he was all over the place, play hard and consistent. Unlike what someone said about him being inconsistent. Does people remember that before he got his knee surgery, he was in double figure points in all his games before the injury. ALL the games. That doesn't sound inconstant to me.
But I agree since he has came back from injury, he hasn't played with energy, but if you look closely, he is not nearly as fast and explosive as he was to begin the year. The problem with Blazer fans, is when someone goes through a bad stretch, it's always let trade him, this and that. I heard that already with Zach, Darius, Telfair, Outlaw. I mean, this is a young time, and fans need to be patient. Be more loyal to the players and don't be so quick to say let's trade them.
Every person who is a superstar didn't just become a star in 1-2yrs. It takes years sometime, 3-4, even 5 before some finally starts putting it together and become a leader. Who's not to say in 2 more year, with more experience, better defense, and better leadership that Zach can become a franchise player. Look at KG, Kobe, JO, Nash, others who was good in there first 4 years, but wasn't until after that, that they become a leader. This year is a year for them to learn that, and next year as well. People want Darius and Zach in the first year of being the "man" on the team, to become leaders and franchise players. But it takes time.

Re: To all Blazer Fans
As a Blazer fan, I'm still waiting for the "Punisher" attitude to come back.
Will it?

Re: To all Blazer Fans
I absolutley think his knee has something to do with his lackluster play.

I doubt it too! I think he was just saying all the right things at the start of the season and trying to play the right way but he can not sustain it for any period of time. I've said it before and I say it again; you can't polish a turd and call it a diamond. Miles is the turd here, get rid of him.

Re: To all Blazer Fans
He was a bit more consistent at the start of the year but IMO he still wasn't showing up to play every night.
I think his recent lackluster effort has much more to do with the team's record and his lack of interest then his knee.

Re: To all Blazer Fans
The Phoenix game was the first one I had been to this year, and it only took one live look at Darius for me to figure out his knee isn't 100% yet. I was watching to see if this was the case, and I could tell he is still running a bit gingerly on that knee.

Re: To all Blazer Fans
I think Miles' attitude & effort correlate directly with his perception of the team's ability to compete. In other words, "If we ain't goin' to win anyway, why try?". I can see how that would rub Nate the wrong way, especially from such a talented player and one of the (relatively) more experienced players on the roster.

Yeah, and I noticed that his butt looks bigger lately.
Um... maybe I shouldn't have said that...

Re: To all Blazer Fans
your not going to get much love about this around here...
Apparently its the in thing to do, hatin on Miles in every post.
Me personally, I think the injury is a factor. I do question his heart AT TIMES but overall I hope we keep Miles around for a long time.
I have always been a fan. In fact, im all for starting him. Have been.

Yup ryanjend22, I know what you mean. People always reply to negative threads and seem to ignore replying to positive posts. I also think it's a injury thing. If you seen Miles play at the beginning of the year, and now, you can obviously see he is playing like a different player. Miles was dunking on people, posting people up with easy. Now he shooting more jumpers, just like Zach was to begin the year when he was still tentative on the knee. I haven't seen many dunks since Miles came back. I was also at the Suns game, and in person you can watch someones every move, and it was obvious his knee was bothering him. But just like you, I do question his heart sometimes, but this is his first year at being the man and getting major mins. I agree I'm more pleased with how Nate has been able to change Zach more then Darius. But I'm not quick to say trade him, just like on this board, where people have said in a season that's not even over, to trade Miles, Z-bo, Telfair, Outlaw. Let's be more patient and loyal to players.
