But most of all I wish that I was someone else but me.
Now I don't have a coat of silk, but I still have the sky
Now I don't have a lady, but there goes a butterfly
Now I don't have a house of stone, but I can see the sea
Now most of all I know that I am happy to be me.
I'm happy to be me.
I'd like to say I made this, but I didn't

Re: interesting telfair quote~! rrrrrrrr!
If you know anything about Telfiar, you know that he absolutley LOVES and respects where he grew up. It's a very big thing to him, to represent where he's from. If he didn't live there, he wouldn't be half the basketball player he is now.
It doesn't surprise me one bit he said that, and I think some people are just overreacting.

Re: interesting telfair quote~! rrrrrrrr!
It's not that big of a deal. However, it is annoying to read these comments a little. I don't give a **** if he grew up in the NJ/NY area, he's now representing the city of Portland, it's on front of the jersey he plays for, and the team who pays him.

Re: interesting telfair quote~! rrrrrrrr!
So this is all about Telfair saying he'd be happy to play in his home town? Do you see that as a dis on Portland or something? IMO, our player don't have to love Portland. Good lord, they're only here in town half the season, and most of 'em make their off-season homes elsewhere. IMO, all they have to do is play hard, play smart, play as a team, and keep their noses clean.
I would dream about playing in my home-town, too. Very few NBA players ever get that chance.

Look at the bright side....at least he didn't say, "I'll play for whoever will Cash The Check, Baby."

Re: interesting telfair quote~! rrrrrrrr!
What was he supposed to say? Hell no, I would not play in this stinkhole? Duh!
Isn't it sort of like the World Baseball Classic? You might play for a major league team, but you also welcome a chance to play for the US, or Dominican Republic, or Mexico etc. That is not a dis on your team.
This is called trying to create controversy out of nothing.

That's just too absurd for words. Why on earth would his "heart" be in Portland? How egocentric/ethnocentric/chauvinistic/homeristic can you be? You want him to insult his hometown, his hometown fans, his hometown friends, and everyone else who lives in his hometown?
HE'S FROM BROOKLYN! HE LOVES HIS HOME TOWN! GET OVER IT!!
