Re: interesting telfair quote~! rrrrrrrr!
Since I no longer see Telfair as our future PG this doesn't bother me one bit.

So, he essentially said: "If...it happened...(he'd) be happy to play (in his home town)."
What's wrong with that? Who wouldn't feel the same way?
You don't think Blake or Jack wouldn't rather be starting point guards on an NBA team in their home state, if not their home town?
It doesn't mean he's going to stop playing here in the mean time. ALL players are on loan for a limited time to the teams and cities they play for.

Exactly what Blazer Bert said. What the hell else is he gonna say about his hometown? "No, I never want to see that place again"?
Trading Telfair would not be wise (unless it nets us a superior long term player of course). He came straight out of high school as a PG. Only one other player has done that (Livingston) and he's struggling as well. Giving up now would just be Jermaine O'Neal all over again. High school players need time. Particularly when learning to play a position like PG.

Yeah, you can't say you don't want to play in your hometown. Even if you saw first-hand how it worked out for Damon.

Re: interesting telfair quote~! rrrrrrrr!
Totally agree with Foulzilla, et al., but I'll go one step further: why should Blazers be saying right now? Why should they be excited to be Blazers?
A team that's one of the worst in the NBA. A coach that seems to be unhappy with effort on a nightly basis. A city that isn't willing to help the team financially and an owner who's more interested in protecting his billions than in keeping the team competitive.
Add, for Telfair, the fact that he's riding the bench behind a journeyman PG and why wouldn't he be excited at the prospect of going just about anywhere else?

Although I agree with what your saying Foulzilla, can we all quit with the Jermaine O'Neal comparisons? It's like the whole "Draft Jordan" scenario. At the time, it made sense. Now many people have become gun shy because they think every young kid "just needs time" to become an all-world player. If that's the case then we might as well stick with the lineup we have now for eight years, because you never know when someone is going to bust out.

Well, considering the fact that he's under contract HERE and can't be dealt until, at the very soonest, the off season, I don't think he should be particularly (visibly) excited about the notion of playing somehwhere else. That would be useless.
The quote "I think about it," is kind of strange. You're getting paid very very well to play basketball in Portland. Why not think about THAT, not where you're heading next.

People almost always want more than what they have. Even if, at some level, he knows how lucky he is/happy he should be to be playing in the NBA, losing has to suck. Feeling like the team wants you to change your game has to suck. The dead crowds in Portland has to suck (although it's not like the Nets are known for their great crowds).
I hear what you're saying about his relationship with Portland, but it's not like he's talking about how great it would be to be married to another woman.

Yeah, I get all that. And I completely understand where he's coming from. Hell, if I was Telfair, I'd rather play in Brooklyn for the Nets.
I find his comments annoying because...as a lifelong fan of the Blazers, I can't get out of this god damned mess, so I'll be damned if I'm going to like hearing any current players fantasizing about getting out.
We're all in this together Telfair!!!!!!111
