Re: Has Miles lost his athletism?
I thought Darius came to play this year. Before the injury, he was bringing it every night and I loved his attitude. He was doing and saying all the right things. Never did he make a squeek about Commander Nate. With Zach still recovering from his surgery, he was our best player.
When he first came back from surgery he was obviously out of NBA shape, to the point he looked sick on the court at times. He was obviously not as mobile as he was before; and IMO he still isn't. I feel confident there are physical and psychological issues holding him back right now.
Sure I'm disappointed in how he's playing now. Has he also thrown in the towel for the season? Possibly. But I don't think there's a big need for him to go out and re-injure his knee to try and eek out one more win in this abysmal season, either. He's still recovering from knee surgery, I hear.
I don't know how much is physical and how much is laziness and how much is not wanting to be on such a pathetic team and how much is not wanting to injure himself and hamper his career over it.
I am perfectly fine letting him rehab at his pace for the rest of the year.
If he comes in next year the way he's finishing this year, I'll join the anti-Darius crowd in chanting "Off with his head!" Until then, and considering the Darius that showed up at the start of this season, I just don't see any advantage in making any hasty decisions where he is concerned.

Yup, excatly what you said is how I feel. Im not ready to say let's trade Darius for the sake of it. But if come next year, he is playing like this mid-season, then it will be time to trade him. But not now.

Re: Has Miles lost his athletism?
I'll bet the coaches know him better than I do. If the coaches think his attitude isn't going to cut it, then they will probably push to trade him this off-season. If that's the case, so be it. Everyone is expendable. If they do, I just hope they get back equal value for a change.

Let's see. He came out of high school which is known to take time to adjust. He played less minutes. He wasn't a focal part of the offense in the past. I could probably come up with a few more, but I think these are the important ones.
He showed some very good play at the start of the year. I just can't understand why people won't give him some time to recover from his knee injury before judging him so harshly.

Every place he's gone he hasn't gotten along with the coach....
He's the least intelligent basketball player on the team... (besides maybe Ha, but thats debateable)...
He doesn't even look like he wants to play here...
He's definitely not someone I'd be opposed to trading...

It's not about his injury. It's about his career being sup-par in that department.
You don't need to have a 100% knee to play intelligent defense.

Why? What makes him so "unintelligent"?

Looks can be deceiving. However, if this is true then he should be traded. I just won't assume it's true based on his looks. It's not a reasonable assumption. Hopefully management actually knows the truth.

As I stated previously, I'm not opposed to trading him either if the price is right. I just think it's stupid to act as if he's a "waste of a player".

Again, he hasn't had the freedom to play in the past like he did in those 15 games. Give him time to get his knee recovered and then judge whether or not it was a fluke.

Re: Has Miles lost his athletism?
i'm so sick of miles at this point. he always has an excuse. He is just a bust of a pick and we are stuck with him. he can't shoot yet all he does is stay on the perimeter. If he wants to have success, he needs to go down low and dominate the small forwards he goes against. I just don't think he cares. He got his deal and is fine with being on a losing team without having any pressure to do more then what is asked of him.
