Is there any allowance whatsover to be made for Miles coming back from an injury? Anyone objective enough to remember how well he was playing right before the injury? Anyone who remembers how it took Zach awhile to start looking like himself again after the injury? (I remember McMillan being pretty impatient with Zach as well).
Geez. All this Oregonian following is making me wish Quick wrote a column tomorrow on how people should jump off a bridge into the Columbia. Maybe some cold water would do some of you well.

Zach struggled, but he played hard.
Miles doesn't play hard.

Re: D. Miles leaves last nights game early...?
Concering Miles: He probably was hurt. However he did not play well or hard during this last game before he hurt his eye.. The game before he played fairly well, for him and was agressive.
As to his value as a player, He would be a good bargin for the money paid if he played each game the same. However he does not do that so IMO he is not worth his money. As to the knee injury, three nights earlier he played well, (on the same knee) and then hardly played at all in the last game.
I guess it could be argued that the knee could swell and not be as effective three nights later although with the therapy machines and pools etc. in the NBA it seems to me that may be more of an excuse IMO.
Another observation, he played well without Zack playing??
He played poorly with Zack there??
Zack played outside nearly all night as well??
I vote to get rid of him if he cannot become consistent in his play the rest of the year.

Re: D. Miles leaves last nights game early...?
I think Zach plays best when Darius isn't playing, and Darius plays better when Zach isn't.
Some of Zach's best games came when Darius was out. I sometimes get the feeling that the two of them together are bad for each other. Like each thinks that since they're both playing (and the "best players" on the team) they basically can do no wrong. So they don't have to worry about things, each has each others "back".
When they're on their own, they don't have that safety net, and play harder/better.

I think Nate is talking about effort/focus in practice just as much as in games.

Re: D. Miles leaves last nights game early...?
Uhhh...Yeah.
I was at the game, just a couple rows from the court. Lets just say I was DiSGUSTED with Miles' play and attitude.
I have been a proponent for Miles in the starting lineup for quite some time, while 90% of you have disagreed to a large degree...
I see why now.
Damn, I am so sick of his million dollar *** giving 50% when he has all-star potential.
In summation, it sure seemed that he just didnt want to play last night. I have NEVER seen an NBA player with less on-court enthusiasm in a game. It was bad.

Dude, he hasn't been consistent his whole career, he's not going to suddenly do it now. Especially after his long term deal done and finished.

since Miles is in the NBA, I consider him in the group I was refering to. My point was that any player who makes the league is paid a seemingly disproportionate amount of money to those of us mere working stiffs. Some are more out of wack then others, but all make significantly more per minute played then I'd suspect most of us here pull per minute.
Because of his sub-par play post injury and (relative to other NBA contracts) substancial contract, Darius is pretty likely to be back next year... I'm hoping he'll mend up and be 100%

Surprisingly, I'm most disgusted that anyone gets paid this much money to play a game. No matter who they are. It's never hit me quite like this.
Second, Darius is worthless.....but I knew that already. I can't stand him.

He might as well spread it out on a per-minute basis over the rest of his life (anticipating some investments), because a lot of these guys don't plan on working after they retire.

Good post Hap.
To piggy-back on your thoughts, they just do not complement each other. When Rasheed was here Miles played his best maybe, and it seemed to be because Rasheed would float outside and give Miles a path to the basket. It was on that play that he got his contract and then we traded Rasheed.
One of Zack or Miles need to go in my opinion.
