We should draft Glen Davis.

That's assuming that he declares for the draft of course!

This is the only guy in college I see this year that could step in and significantly help a team immediately.

Re: We should draft Glen Davis.

I would love to have Big Baby, but he is not worth a lottery selection IMO. He will simply be too slow at the next level and at only 6'8" he would be easy for opposing centers to shoot over. And 6'8" is what he is listed at, but my guess is that he is more like 6'6". Tyrus looks about 3in taller when they stand side by side. My guess is that someone will take a flyer on him in the 16-26 range.

Re: We should draft Glen Davis.

Reminds me alot of Tractor Trailer a few years back. Big, wide body - but height challenged.

We might already have enough of those.

He looked like a legit 6-8 or 6-9 to me. He is so massive while still being very athletic. He would be a lottery selection imho.

Re: We should draft Glen Davis.

First off Tlong.....Why is ok with you to have an undersized PF/C but not a PG?

Big Baby would be a great pick if we could move up into the mid first round and didn't already select Aldridge, Thomas or Bargnani

tlong - are you saying he should go #1? Or is he just the one you'd like to see come here, to this team?

Re: We should draft Glen Davis.

I don't watch college basketball normally, so I can only go from what I have read. I hear a lot of comparisons to Tractor Traylor. My question to those who watch, is that fairly accurate? I presume it's mostly due to his weight that the comparison is based, but are their games also similar?

Re: We should draft Glen Davis.

Glen Davis has had a nice tournament run and has looked pretty good...

But his height (6'8 or so) and weight (300+ lbs) both concern me...and the comparison to Tractor Traylor os somehwat an accurate one..not to say I wouldn't want to see POR take him, but certainly not with a top 3\5 pick....

Re: We should draft Glen Davis.

tractor traylors younger brother, horse trailer, isn't someone you pick with the top 16 picks.

you take him with the detroit pick IF there's no one else there who's tall and skinny.

You can take a big man with the 2nd pick and take the best player (whoever that is) with the first pick.

Re: We should draft Glen Davis.

Glennis better then Tractor for a couple of reasons. He has a better shot and he is quicker IMO. I think he also has more heart then Tractor, however I don't think that Tractor is lacking in that department.

As far as his height, after the last game both Davis and Thomas were interviewed together, and standing right next to eachother is when I really noticed the height difference.

Big Baby is going to be better then Tractor but I still just don't think he is going to be good enough to warrent a high pick.

So if Earle Boykins were 310lbs, he would no longer be considered undersized? Makes perfect sense.
