Paul - are you listening? You should have let Nash trade Darius when he had a chance in February instead of nixing it.

the Blazer franchise is to good to say let's have a couple losing season like Nash has done. It's like accepting losing, and the players have that feeling as well. And it's very hard to break that losing tradition. And everyone was using the Bulls as an example at what we can become, but it took Bulls what, 8 years to make the playoffs last year, and look at them this year. Barley hanging on to the 8th spot in a weak East.

So if we played
Blake
Dixon
Lenard
Skinner
Joel
Theo
our record would be how much better?
The team is trying to fix a couple of big problems problems.
1. bad contracts by Whitsitt
2. bad PR so overpaying a player like Theo

Umm, exactly what contracts are on the books right now that were initiated by Whitsitt?

I'm out of here
If they lose Joel and keep Miles and Zach, this team will have a good chance to draft both Oden and Mayo. I love what Nate is trying to do, but if he loses one of his best workers and Miles and Zach stay, he has no hope of getting over the top. That would leave only Khryapa, Dixon and Blake that really take the games seriously. That translates into worst record in the league for at least two more years.
Maybe it is time for Nate to really act on what he has said in the past and only play the players who are hustling. Oh wait, you have to have five players on the floor to start the game. Never mind.
Maybe it is time to become a Clippers fan. (Who would have ever thought . . . .)

I hear people blame Paul a lot for Darius being here. However, the only quote I've seen on the issue is that when told that we could get Darius in a trade he said (something like) "We can get Darius Miles? Cool." Is there some quote somewhere stating Allen nixed any trades?

conjecture. It's easy to blame the "head" for things he couldn't do or didn't do.
For all we know, NY agree'd to a trade, but then tried to sweeten the pot and Portland returned the favor.
then NY might have offered like, Penny + Lee for Darius + our pick.
would you actually blame Paul Allen for not doing that trade? serously?

Derek Anderson is the only one I can think of. Take away Theo and Zach, and the contracts on this team are bupkiss and bupkiss light.

D.A. as you mentioned is the only one...we just recently finished pay Kemp's fat *** as I recall.
I look at more this way:
Whitsitt bad contracts = diminished trade value of players with those contracts = less valuable players in return.

Yes, as mentioned DA is the only one.
Damon, Ruben, Kemp and others have crippled this franchise to where it is now.

Re: Pryzbilla says he's not coming back unless....
Although I've known this in my head for quite a while -seeing it in print today has me bummed. I hope there is something between now and April 19th to change his mind and make him stay. We need to rid this team of the half-baked players and keep the one's who play hard and give effort each night.

Re: Pryzbilla says he's not coming back unless....
Fans going to the remaining home games need to bring signs that say "DONT GO JOEL!" etc.
Joel is right on the money with his comments. I dont blame him at all for not wanting to be here if we dont get rid of the guys he's talking about.
I like the fact that Nate wants Joel to call out his teammates and let them know how he feels.

Translation IMO: TRADE Darius Miles
I honestly don't think Joel is talking about Zbo when he mentions other players just not caring about losing.
