Re: Quote from NATE - "I WILL BE BACK"

Sad day for up tempo fans. woohoo, 5 more years of walking the ball up so Juan Dixon can jack up shot after shot only to stay in the game while Martell or Telfair miss once and get benched.

Portland doesn't have the personnel necessary to play an up-tempo game.

That just might be the dumbest thing you've ever said tlong. I understand you don't like Telfair, but even you would have to admit he is better at running than in the 1/2 court. Outlaw, Miles, Jack, Viktor even Webster are all athletes. Joel and/or Theo are good at blocking shots and starting the break. All Nate would have to do is implement a trapping defense and portland would be not only more fun to watch, but harder to beat.

4 more years.

And Dixon is a better shooter than Martell & Telfair. If you expect people here to think you know how to coach the team better than Nate, you need to prove it. Your posts with wrong facts are not going to cut it. Mediocre, man.

I'd like to see Webster, Telfair, Outlaw, and Jack play more, but just putting them in and benching Dixon Blake & Miles doesn't help the team.

You need to have decent defensive players, and you need players who understand the difference between 'game shape' and 'well conditioned'. Portland has neither.

It's hard starting a fast break taking the ball out of the net.

Sorry, I added the word more by mistake my bad.

Dixon statistically might be a better shooter, but at the same age as he I'd like to see where Telfair and Webster are. Dixon brings our offense to a stop along with Zach. They are both painful to watch.

As for proving I can coach better than Nate I would be happy to. Plaease submit to the Blazers that I would like to take over as head coach as soon as they would like to make the game more entertaining for the fans. My offense would consist of a lot of hit and running and single wing formations.

Re: Quote from NATE - "I WILL BE BACK"

Was there actually some question on whether he would be back or not? He just signed a 5 year contract at the beginning of this year did he not?

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I meant that of all the posters at bbb.net, you are one of the least likely to be coach. My bad.

Because of what reasons?

I have exceptional communication skills
Have actually coached basketball....assisted at a higher level than high school
Look great in a suit
Ability to hold down a job
Already a fan of arena nachos
Have my evenings free
Can keep track of when a player hurts the team more on defense than helps on offense
Can count by onsies, twosies and threesies
Can count backwards from 24 almost all the time

I mean just because you disagree with my assessment doesn't mean I'd make a bad coach, nor does it mean you'd make a bad coach. It means we differ in oppinion.

And benching Blake, Dixon and Miles does help the team. Blake is by far the steadiest PG we have, but he hasn't proven to be anything but a back up so far in his career. Dixon is the worst defender on the team and has never met a shot he didn't like. Miles is by far the most talented player on the team and by far the one with the least heart. Benching all of them would help Nate mold the young guys the way he wants to. Keeping them on the bench does nothing but hurt their confidence.
