They don't have a lot of nutrients in them and they often bring diseases to the tank. They rock though, and they are still growing. I think the bigger one is about 10 inches long or so, now.

Re: so what do you do instead of watch blazer dreck?

Maybe I'm a bit masochistic, but I keep watching until the final buzzer sounds. I quit worrying about wins and losses a long time ago. I'm mainly interested in seeing if the young players are developing their games, who I think I want to see stick around next season, who might be starter material next year, etc. I guess I've been a Blazer fan so long I just don't know how not to watch.

Very nice that's a decent size for a Oscar...we should let them play with my Red Belly Piranha who is about 8 inches now.

Piranha and Oscar are both fascinating fish to watch IMO.

I am not sure that I would trust the two fish to "get along"...hehe.
Athough, Oscars and Piranhas do originate from the same rivers in south America. So they are used to seeing eachother. But not within the limited space of a fish tank. That would spell trouble.
What size fish tank do you have?

I miss my old Oscar, he was about 12" long. I usually didn't feed him goldfish though, since the feeders are real prone to carrying parasites. Eartheworms are good, but I found that frozen uncooked shrimp were a major favorite of his.

It's interesting that the Pirhana is part of the Charachin family, similar to the Tetras...the Famous Neon of course, being the most recognizable variety.

I once knew an old Oskar, but I don't think he ate goldfish or earth worms, but I'm sure he ate shrimp.

I don't know what they have to say, it makes no difference anyway, whatever it is, I'm against it!
No matter what it is or who commenced it, I'm against it!

Your proposition may be good, but let's have one thing understood, whatever it is, I'm against it! And even when you've changed it or condensed it, I'm against it!

Just a 40 gallon right now unfort. If my two piranhas grow much bigger I am going to need a upgrade.

FYI...if you are into fish check out the fish shop called "The Wet Spot" its out on Sandy Blvd. here in Portland. They sell alot of rare and sometimes illegal fish.
