while thats true and all Speed..you know, and I know why the Timberwolves are going to lose.
It's what the basketball gods want.

Ok, I did this quickly....but here's how I think all the scenarios look....please correct me if I am wrong.
We win 51-31 and Lakers 49-33 and T-Wolves lose 50-32.....we get T-Wolves and home court advantage based on records.
We win 51-31 and Lakers win 50-32....T-Wolves lose 50-32....we get Lakers and home court advantage (La owns tiebreaker with Minn.).
We lose 50-32 and Lakers 50-32 and T-Wolves win 51-31....We get Dallas on the road (We lose tiebreaker with LA)
We lose 50-32, T-Wolves lose 50-32 and Lakers win 50-32....We get Dallas on the road. (We lose tiebreaker to Minn and LA)
We lose 50-32, Lakers lose 49-33 and T-Wolves win 51-31....We get T-Wolves on the road. Based on records.
All three win PDX 51-31, Minn 51-31, LA 50-32.......we get T-Wolves on the road. Minn wins tiebreaker)
All three lose PDX 50-32, Minn 50-32, LA 49-33.....we get T-wolves on the road. (Minn wins tiebreaker)

RipCityJB: it looks like you have it right, except you forgot:
We win 51-31 and T-Wolves win 51-31 and Lakers lose 49-33 ... we get T-wolves on the road. (Minn wins tiebreaker)
Not anything earth-shaking there, but for completeness I wanted to note it.

Speed, you must be a masochist.
This is playing out just like last year. Portland wins an emotional game at home against the Lakers near the end of the season, but has been struggling to the gate, once again.
Portland is emotionally spent, and the Lakers plow right through them.
Do you really think it will be any different this year? Seriously...as BR said, you are the guy who was predicting the Lakers were going into the lottery, and that Portland would overtake Sacramento.
Last I looked, Sacto had a 10-game lead on Portland and the Lakers were steaming into the playoffs.
You'd make one lousy handicapper.
When you say "book it" are you referring to "book 'em, Dano" or perhaps you worked in a library at one time in your life?
Please.

This is nothing like last year. The Blazers will have HCA if they play the Lakers this year. It is also best of 7. The Lakers also suck on the road. And the Lakers play terrible D this year too. Totally different.

When was that?
All I can think about is 91-92 when Cliff boggled the go-ahead fast break layup and Magic threw the ball away...
That was supposed to be our year, they paid their dues by going to the Finals and losing the year before. It wasn't the Jordan era yet, in fact I think the Blazers swept the season series with Chicago that year... but that's what happened... then we got sloppy seconds the next year and our spot on the Jordan Parade...
Bittersweet Blazer memories.

nope
the Blazers eliminated the Lakers in the 1992 playoffs. first round. 3-1.
the cliff boggling the pass is the 1991 playoffs for the 1990-91 season.

That match-up will not happen........or it better not
the t-wolves won't lose to memphis because homecourt will be on the line.....and they want and need home court
they only way for portland to get the 4 and not play L.A. as the 5 is to win their last game and have minny and L.A. lose
but portland doesn't need homecourt against minny

I know plenty of old timers and HOFer's that claimed defense in the late 90's and early 2000's weren't as good as the 80's. Wilt once said he'd average 70 ppg in the modern-day NBA because defenses were so much worse. Pippen once said KG was a stats guy who disappears down the stretch of games. Bill Walton once said Rasho was a better interior defender than Tim Duncan because Tim Duncan was on the bench at the time. Barkley once said Argentina was located north of the Indian ocean.

Intangibles
in*tan*gi*bles (greek meaning: plays hard every night) - 1. word used to describe marginally talented and productive basketball players. 2. Last resort when explaining the "value" of said marginally talented and productive player. 3. Shane Battier
Love the Marc Jackson-Jeff Van Gundy combo...
"I've played with guys like Rodmonavic; good enough to keep both teams in the game."~ Jackson during gm 5 commenting as Rodmonavic scores at one end and gives up another layup.

LMAO!!!
The Lakers actually won a playoff game with that sad lineup?!
I don't even remember that...your picture says it all, with Vlade at center, Lakers had no chance.
Do you really think that playoff series has any bearing on what's going to happen should these two teams meet?

well, they won barely game 3, while the riots happened. But when the past suits you (not you personally, anyone), you bring it up. When it doesn't suit you, you mock it.
It's called being a fan. irrational at it's best!

Lakers went to the Finals with Divac at center.
And I liked his last team with the Lakers too- Van Exel, Jones, Ceballos, Campbell, Divac? The most complete starting lineup in the league that year. Could have won a title if they hadn't broken it up.
