You know for next year if DA would just learn to play PG, we could have Bonzi back in his normal position, bring in Q and have Zach and Sheed down low. I like that!

Yeah but here is my problem, the reason we have this deep of a bench is to have answers for guys like Nash, right? So why let him get into a groove plus us in foul trouble with guys we know can't stop him? Let's be creative, cause if Nash has fits the Mavs are done. He puts them into position.
The problem is that Nash is like Iverson, he's so damned quick there's nobody who can completely contain him (unless, of course, you are Tyronne Lue and the refs swallow their whistles). Daniels could probably do a better job, but then who do you bench? Pip? Uh uh. Anderson? DA has far better range and passing ability, which we really need.

Whenever you start talking about changing your starting lineup to battle one player (not named Shaq), it's the kind of gimmickry that has you adjusting to other teams instead of having other teams adjust to you.

DA has started almost the entire season. He's played a very important role in getting the success this teams has had. You can't just tell him he's not starting for this series because a lesser player defends Steve Nash better. Maybe with Playstation, but not in the real world.

What about Gary Payton? I like a lineup of:

Payton
Anderson
Wells
Wallace
Randolph

Don't you?

At the beginning of the season, I thought Pippen was going to get dealt since he's an expiring contract. BUT, I did want to see the Blazers run DA at the Point, Bonz at 2, and Ruben at 3, with Sheed and Dale at the 4/5. That was my lineup, and was my lineup everytime I played NBA 2k3 on my xbox.

I still think that is a better lineup than what Cheeks used the last games of the season.

Well if you're going to give me GP that's a different story! We all know that, I was just talking about what we have to work with now.

As for benching Pip for a player that may be more effective, here's my thought:

Beating LA is the "ONLY" reason Pip still doesn't have ice on his knee. This guy likes to lead when everything is smooth. I think Pip has a suspect personality. If AD can do a better job, I see no problem with that.

BTW- It's not like we have three weeks for Pip to get his shot back either! What's best for the team right? Or does that not count for Pip?
