Never underestimate STEVE NASH
I have a feeling that Nash is going to be a pain in our side this series. I like our match-ups everywhere else, but Nash will give us trouble. We HAVE to contain him in transition or we are in trouble. His penetration is what sparks the late quarter runs when they create distance on the scoreboard. Keep him in a half court game and Dallas is half the team.

Finley will be our thorn. Pip/Damon usually does a great job keeping nash in front of him. I think Dirk wil lget just a bit less then his average, but we gotta watch out for Nickey V
Z-Bo,DA,Bonzi,Dale,Sabas are our keyes to winning!

Yeah. I see Nash as a primary problem too. In times of drought when Dallas gets scared and reticent to take the shot, he's one of the only guys that will mercilessly take it to the hole and knock down some crazy layups.

Dallas is not going to be as physical as Portland and that favors the Blazers in a 7 game series. Sure, Dallas has some shooters, but can they hit their shots while being having to play so physical on the other end of the floor? I don't think so. Portland will grind them down.

Shaq isn't on this team, right? That's all that matters.

Good point Wanker...Dallas will see plenty of Z-bo in this series. He played very well against them this year and dominated the offensive glass.

Who do ya put on Nash? Pip is to slow, Damon to short, DA to fragile, how about AD? Let AD run Nash to death or till AD fouls out than DA, then Jeff followed by Damon. A reverse roster if ya will!

I think our best lineup is to have Pippen cover Finley and DA cover Nash. Finley is just too powerful for DA, but that won't bother Pip as much. Finley is pretty quick for Pippen to try to cover, but it's a helluva better matchup for him than Nash.
DA on Nash is about as good a lineup as we can have. Stoudamire can't cover Nash--the dude just waterbugs by him.

AD wouldn't work on Nash? Don't ya think AD could muscle the hell out of him?

I would take AD over DS any day of the week, and yes, I think he'll do a good job at defending Nash (I hope). BUT, in terms of starting lineups, I don't see AD getting the nod over Pip or Stoudamire.

Yeah but here is my problem, the reason we have this deep of a bench is to have answers for guys like Nash, right? So why let him get into a groove plus us in foul trouble with guys we know can't stop him? Let's be creative, cause if Nash has fits the Mavs are done. He puts them into position.

Maybe it would be preudent for Portland to go with a lineup like this.
PG Pippen
SG Wells
SF Patterson
PF Wallace
C Randolph
That is a fairly physical lineup that could cause Dallas to have fits. Not to mention force Dallas into foul trouble by taking it to the rim.
