unless the blazers completely mentally break down i dont see them losing this series. They just match up well with the mavericks. It seems like everytime I watch a Blazers vs mavericks game the blazers seem to blow them out. I know earlier in the season dallas won a couple against portland but dallas was on a roll back then and portland was slumping. I give portland the edge right now.

Dallas will win.
Please dont take this as baiting, I am not trying to induce an arguement. Im just merely stating my opinions.
Dirk- Rasheed loses interests at times. He cannot afford to do so guarding Dirk, or Dirk will go off.
Finley- The best wing player in this series. Wells is good, but Finley is better.
NVE/Nash vs Portland PGs- Pippen is a good player, but he has nowhere near the speed/quickness to keep up with Nash and Van Exel. Should McInnis, Daniels, or Stoudamire guard them, it wont change much. Dallas will probably use zone, so Pippen wont be able to have many chances posting up the Dallas PG's.
Overall, both teams are deep. Make that very deep. But the difference will be Dirk's ability to score on Rasheed. If Wallace has a great series, Portland can win. But Im not willing to bet on that. I say Dallas in 6.

Mavericks in 5 or 6.
Nowitki is a playoff monster, and the Mavs are better.

I like the Blazers in six. The Blazers can play a very physical game and the Mavs do not like that.

It's definitely a matchup of offense vs. defense here. Portland does seem to matchup with Dallas very well. I want to see Portland pound the glass like they have against Dallas and play with reckless abandon out there. Dallas is soft and that seems to get to them. It's playoff time and there should be no easy layups in the paint...put them on the ground. Portland is much to physical for the Mavs and I see Portland winning in 6 games.

Ah, the optimism of youth. Just a month ago, I had it as well....
You can read my comments in other posts about the lack of consistency by the Blazers as their downfall once again this year. But I will say this - the Mavericks have been anything BUT a model of consistency themselves over the last few weeks. Losing that #1 seed that everyone had earmarked them for might have rattled them just enough mentally to, well, to create an opportunity for Portland. But the Blazers have to be willing to work for it, and I'm not convinced that they ARE willing to do so.
