Suicide is painless...
Watching the Blazer commercial last night where they are scrimmaging, and Nate says something like "the losing team has to do suicides"...
First, those are odd words to use in a commercial. Not many things are advertised with 'losing' and 'suicide'. At least not successfully. Usually you want to say something like 'everlasting orgasm' and 'tastes great'.
Secondly, is this prophecy?
Blazers = losing team
suicide = no more Portland franchise
just a thought.

Re: Suicide is painless...
I remember thinking that when I saw it the first time.
It's just a Nate thing, a part of practice. Dixon said (on 1080 today) they had to do four of them today. Full-court practice game, losing team does suicides, just like in the tv ad.
"Losing team does two suicides" ... the second one is the painful one.

Very profound, barfo.
Did you sit around all night thinking about that?

beautiful song (imho)

it brings on many changes

the version from the movie is very very beautiful, albeit about a horrible topic.
I meant the movie's theme song, not the song sung during the movie.

Yeah, that is the Manic Street Preachers I do beleive... but what movie are you talking about?
Interesting tidbit about that song.... if you couldn't tell, the basic melody in the song is a copy of the "Mash" theme song. Also, the song proved to be a bit prophetic as the lead singer ended up committing suicide.

EDIT----------------------------------------------
Ok, scratch what I wrote. I didn't realize that it was a cover.... I knew the song sounded like mash, but I didn't know that the original "Mash" theme had lyrics and all. I left the rest because The Manic Street Preachers, an early 90's british band, did in fact cover it, and the lead singer did in fact kill himself soon afterwards.

Re: Suicide is painless...
yeah i thought about that commercial a lot since it started airing. but it doesn't have that big of an impact on me. these guys are professional athletes! just about every one of our guys has complained about lack of playing time i'm sure at one point or another so if they want to run go right ahead. two suicides for a pro athlete really shouldn't mean jack to them.
