Re: Biggest Gap To Fill In Draft

biggest need? sf scoring that can shoot since there are so few in the draft 4 in the first round iirc morrison being number 1 and there being a ton of pf/pfc/c in the draft we can get that scoring sf then get a big later in the draft.

Re: Biggest Gap To Fill In Draft

We need a big man. Joel may not resign with us and we can't depend on Theo to stay healthy. Odds are that we're going to be desperate for a big next year. I'm still holding out that Noah will declare this year, he'd be the perfect fit. He's a Nate type player (defense, rebounding & shotblocking). He could be a backup center this year if we don't sign Joel and could also fill in at starting power forward if Zach gets reinjured or goes mental on us again.
I'd love to have morrison, but he is a luxury we may not be able to afford.

Michael Olowokandi, C, Minnesota
Nazr Mohammed, C, San Antonio
Alonzo Mourning, Miami
Joel Przybilla, C, Portland
Lorenzen Wright, PF/C, Memphis
Kelvin Cato, Orlando
Jarron Collins, Utah
Scot Pollard, Indiana
Antonio Davis, New York
Greg Ostertag, Utah
Brian Grant, Phoenix
Jake Voskuhl, Charlotte
Ervin Johnson, Milwaukee
Loren Woods, Toronto
Michael Bradley, Philadelphia

Given that it takes a few years for a young center to develop, and given how extremely weak this draft is at the center position, Portland would be better served picking up one of the above centers on the cheap and spending money on the center position next year, when it's easier to get.

Star power. All the rest can be relatively easily acquired via other means.

Samuel, I've been a serious NBA Fan for over 40 years. A young Alonzo Mourning is the only one on your list that could give Noah a run for the money. The kid's got heart and talent. One is no good without the other.
