I wouldn't anticipate any actual meaningful production, but keeping the guys around could actually be a negative given their histories.
And I say that as someone who is loathe to attribute "cancer" status to anyone.
But can you imagine being on the Knicks, hearing you've been traded and then finding out it's to the only team in the NBA that's worse than the Knicks? Eek!

I was assuming we instantly waived Jalen Rose and Maurice Taylor, so's not to get them ANYWHERE NEAR our young guys (or take any PT away from them). As we've got Malik Rose for two more years, I was thinking we should at least give him a chance. I never heard of any "issues" with Popovich, though - I always assumed Rose was a good soldier - limited talent, but constant hustle. I actually thought he was supposed to be a good lockerroom guy - hasn't he been one of the few non-problems in NY?

What's Philadelphia's motivation to do this deal, to get younger? Because Randolph/Marbury is a clear downgrade on Webber/Iverson. And, while Webber actually can pass and still the duo failed, Randolph isn't even capable of passing. So it doesn't seem like it's a duo fated for better chemistry.
And it doesn't really save them much money, as Randolph and Marbury are both maxed out.
In the end, the Sixers would be a bit younger, but worse and far less popular without Iverson. I don't think they'd have much interest.

I like it. The Rose City and the Rose Garden need a couple of Roses.
What fan could resist that?

You've spotted the achilles heel of the plan - Philly is indeed the team with least to gain. Which is why Nash should be on the phone to King RIGHT NOW to catch him while he's still steamed at Iverson and Webber (and he's pretty steamed). Plus, as you say, they do get younger. And I'm not really sure Randolph is even a downgrade from Webber, because Webber is just done. Honestly, watch him play sometime - he can barely touch the rim, and he's worse than useless on D.
Plus, of course, the Sixers get the player Cheeks tried desperately to acquire when in Portland - Juan Dixon!
(Finally: I know what you mean about popularity - Iverson should be a GOD in Philly, but as I said earlier, for some unaccountable reason Marby is actually incredibly popular too. Go figure.)

And that would matter because????
I know I am in the minority here, but I have a piece of advice for Joel in his next home: produce first, then pontificate.

Portland also sends lots of cash and a draft pick to the Pacers as incentive to do the deal. Deal has to happen after July 1.
Portland then drafts Adam Morrison in the draft
Resign Lenard as a cheap veteran to play backup SG
ROSTER
PG Telfair, Jack, Blake
SG Jones, Webster, Lenard
SF Morrison, Khryapa, Outlaw
PF O'Neal, Skinner, #30 pick

Love your trade but seriously it's like saying, "here Indy take our two overpait idiots off our hands and give us your best player + another guy with decent potential. We'll throw in a pick (# undetermined). "
Indy would and should laugh in our face if we offer up this deal, to make it happen we would have to include this years top 3 pick.
